Ebay dead

I have been trying to check on an auction result for at least the last 15 minutes, and the www.ebay.co.uk server is not replying.

What effect does that have on real-time bidding?

It is my assumption that some early bidders are well pleased, and some sellers well miffed, and those who wait until the last second to bid... well, they deserve what they get - but what good is an auction site that behaves this way?

Eh? It works just fine for me.

I wish it was down though (as long as the auctions end on schedule), i've been winning this thing for ages and then someone outbid me, I have had to raise my a few times now, and those cheeky buggers are almost as determined as me .

It is down for me, still! Everything else on the web works, but ebay times out.

I cannot see if I won or not...

It depends how long ago it ended; you can still search some ended auctions (I think)

I received the email saying I won, and price, but the link supplied (ebay.co.uk) does not work for me. I have sent a mail to Tiscali support asking for help

I don't know if this would help, but you could try clearing your cache.

Do you have ICS or anything like that on? I found that sometimes, for unknown reasons, with ICS on, some URL's didn't work. If you do, try unsharing the connection then wait a few seconds then resharing, then try to connect again. This fixed the issue for me.

If not, perhaps try unplugging your internet connection and plugging it back in.

Or clearing your cache may work, as suggested.

It worky now. I ran Spy Bot and then restarted Windoze.
