Hmmm that sounds rather complex.

Heres my thing, I belive in simple solutions, they tend to be most effective.

the problem:

World is being colonized to quickly

Solution:

make the colonists more expensive to build, this slows the rate they will be produced.


Additionally having colonists appear in the new world side steps the fact that in reality they were shipped from europe on charters. So having a wonder on each continent seems cool but it has no direct purpose in adding realism or playability. Plus the AI would be really confused by this I'm sure.

By making the colonists more expensive this will solve another problem as well. It will be very difficult to produce them in newer colonies, which would have been accurate. In history colonies never sent out colonists until they came to be large towns and cities and they had the resources to produce them.
 
Well i was told that my idea for having the treasure be carried by a merchant only would work. It does not work, any combat unit can carry a flag no matter what. So what i did instead was a still have the merchant but the merchant company building produces them quickly so you have units that are free of support costs that can carry cartel for you so you don't have to expend your military forces if you don't want.

Anyways 2.0 is nearly ready.
 
D'oh! Well, as I said, I wasn't sure about the foot unit flag. Can't be right about everything. Your revised plan makes sense, since it would really only be a help to a human player anyway.
 
I got the permission for the next upload so 2.0 is on the way!!

One little thing though. Spain is being a pain in my rear end.

They wouldn't colonize or attack the Aztecs even though they were in locked war. So I took off the war and they still wouldn't colonize! I don't know whats wrong with them. All the settings are the same as the other civs and they have no problems.

Anyways once this is figured out I will upload. Deffinately by saturday or so.
 
I think you could call the american native resource "European Trade" and the graphic could be a barrel of powder with a couple of muskets. Someone did a scenario that was called the same as yours, maybe you continued it. I was helping but life made me things difficult, so I left it. I made the graphic for that kind of resource. See if you like; if not, I don´t mind, but maybe it helps.

uploading now, sorry for the wait. Heres what i need you guys to do with this new version however,

The AI is not acting like they used to for some reason. They aren't good at war and they seem to be not building very many naval vessels at all. Help me figure this out.

I didn't add the natives yet since i'm trying to get all the bugs worked out that there are first. 3.0 will have natives guaranteed. Sorry guys, but you'll still find this version very exciting with many new units and techs and improvements.
 
Where is the .biq file for the new version ? :confused: It wasn't in the main download...
 
Oh gee, i'm a stupid. Its good though because my bic needed updateing anyways. I'll put it up tonight. I think i fixed all the problems i was having with AI now anyhow so you guys won't have to patch it once it is up.

It seems AI will not build many naval units if they can't be veteran.

I took the Zulu's and Iriquois out of the game. The reason is that the way these groups were organized at that time they more resembled barbarian encampments as opposed to civilizations with infrastructure and organized government.

Hey sorry friend, I'm not ignoring you but i had a crisis with the AI not working so I was focused on fixing that first. As now the problem is resolved in 2.10 I will plan on using you resource and have native rifleman.
