Has there been any announcement as to when edge scrolling will be added? This is crucial for me in particular because of certain physical limitations I have.

I'm aware that not offering this option anymore has become a fashion since a few years and yes, I assume it might due it not be needed or even detrimental with certain modern equipment. But I didn't expect that a series like Civ goes that route...what I really don't understand is why it is not at least provided as an option. I haven't even a problem with it being default off then, but it should be possible if desired for whatever reason. For me persoannly, it is just the most comfortable way to move the map. Needing to press (mouse) keys or using the minimap is highly detrimental to my personal playing comfort

It really feels like the UI and the controls were only designed for touch screen or something.Wait...the game has no edge scrolling?!

Wait. PC players don't get edge scrolling but console players do?!?
Admittedly it's the only way to move the map with a controller, but they could give us mouse and keyboard functionality.

The game is unplayable on consoles right now. There is not scrolling at all!

I can't stand no edge scrolling. Its a pain to use the wasd keys in my mind. I cannot believe edge scrolling was not in the game at launch. Plus after 3 patches, its still not in the game. It just further re-enforces the idea that this is a massively unfinished game.

It's not unplayable at all, what do you mean? The main thing missing is a button to bring the cursor to where you are looking, so you can pan around with the left stick and then click a button to bring the cursor to you.

It's weird that I am even typing this, but I agree. After the initial shock of losing edge scroll, I am now actually preferring it to be this way.
You can click and drag the mouse. It's what I do.

Thanks for confirming that at least this alternative exists, but taking away edge scrolling even as option is still an unnecessary and user-unfriendly UI restriction. I hope that it finds it's way in the game with future patches, as it was said that improving the UI is one of the goals.

That's a lie. I don't know if you are miss informed or if you're trying to mislead people or if you're just trying to make yourself feel better about playing on PC but you are incorrect as I play on PS5 almost every day including right now.
I’ve got 90+ hours on Xbox Series X. I agree, it’s highly playable and enjoyable right now on console.
