elephant rush

It sounds to me like War Elephants are also a step in the progression of an aggressive roll. They's be in the space between Axe/swords and Maces...

Well, I just used it in Multiplayer.

My Hatty did not had any hourses near by and 2 of my neibors were Mastas.
Building there skirmishers and thinking they are safe.

I got Masonry form hat, Ivory in fat cross and thinking, what the hell let's beeling to Constraction.

Mixture of Cats/Elephants and a couple axes did the job. Opponent was sitting with 4 skirmishers per city in cities thinking himself safe.

did you lose elephants?
In my experience, after just one cat attack (2 if more than 5 defenders), elephants stormed through, even vs spears.

no I did not loose any elephant I think, after cyiciding 2 cats. I think I loose one when he bring couple of swords on contattack, he never produced speas befor he left.

swords vs elephants?
you obivously played against a nut
spears do better and are cheaper!

I'm still trying to find an efficient way to push this strat.
My first thought was going for copper/iron city first, take it if there is only one source, else raze it and go for the second source ASAP.
I had trouble with "intelligence" : missed some backdoor copper or iron, and the AI kept churning units. I did well, though, but not quite as easy as i thought, having taken the best production site.

Yeah, but the point is that building swordsmen in the first place was a mistake, when he could have used the iron to produce spearmen and axemen.
