Elf Unit Pack

I don't want to sound ungrateful, but I could really use an elf lancer. The horseman is well done and I will be using it for now. Here's an image from the hobbit to help.

@yenyang: It looks to me like you could just use a reskin of the horseman to have shiny armor instead of camo. I might do one in the future, but you can try doing it yourself - there's a simple tutorial by Nutty on reskinning in the Tutorials & Reference section.
And don't think you sound ungrateful! I take it as a compliment that you think my units are good enough to want to request specific ones.

Updated the OP with the Elven Heavy Swordsmen (two skins). That should work for Pazyryk's Heavy Infantry and Immortals. I also added Musketmen, so there are Paz's Arquebusiers.

Nice work! All of these units will rock Pazyryk's mod! :goodjob:

Hello Civtar. No offence but I have a unit model request which is not a fantasy unit.
I need a Landsknecht-Doppelsoldner, it it not a very complex work: use the Landskencht model in Civ5 as the unit's body, but delete his current weapon(halberd), and use the 2-handed sword of the model in the attachment(which is a Civ4 model) as the unit's weapon, use the animation of longswordman in Civ5.
Hope this would not occupy too much of your time.

@zwei833: It sounds like that will end up looking a lot like the WHFB Empire Greatsword that zweihander requested in the Orc Axeman thread, which is a Musketeer with a humongous two-handed sword. If so you should either wait for the Empire Greatsword or, if you really want it to look like your description, try it yourself! I learned to make units from tutorials here on the forum (with help from Ekmek, Wolfdog, and Deliverator). I would be happy to help you learn to make units if you decide to try your hand.

Well, I'll wait for your Empire Greatsword(I didn't know anything about this but I just search it on the internet, it is actually very similiar to the Doppelsoldner in 16th century ) model.
However, I suggest not to use the Musketeer as the unit's body since neither Empire Greatsword nor Doppelsoldner is like a 17th c French Musketeer. And if you can't find(or make) an appropriate sword model, consider the one in my attachment.

I have just converted a new 2-handed sword weapon model from an Elder Scroll 4 mod to Civ4 (the scale and the texture of the sword may need to be modified) , when you start to make the Greatsword model, you can use this if you like it.

@zwei833, that is a good-looking Greatsword! I will definitely use him as an alternate to the one I make. However, if you would like to talk about Warhammer units, please do so from now on in the second thread in my signature, as that is specifically what it is for (and I feel dumb just posting updates to the un-released units I've already done).

Thanks! You know what the ultimate compliment for me is though? Using my units in your mod.
Wait till you see some of the Undead units I'm (slowly!) assembling though - the Necromancer oughta scare ya!

Heh, well, I will see what I can do. I'm a novice at modding and that is probably giving myself more credit than I deserve. I will happily use the model for my Scourge Civ since the Necromancer is it's Unique Unit.

:eek:You're fast! I was thinking it'd be a few days until somebody noticed this thread was back...
Yes, I'm glad to be back again as well, if only for a little while.
If there is a particular Elf unit you'd like to see, ask away... I'm primarily updating textures, but requests for new models will be taken into consideration.:)

EDIT: Actually I'm not just updating textures - the basic elf model is getting a new posture. Rather than the leaning-back position they've been in since the Fall From Heaven Fyrdwell unit, they now look more natural and their hair moves with the head, rather than staying glued to the shoulders. And I'll fix the archer's ear, which is rigged to his quiver...
EDIT2: And maybe those elusive Elf Chariots will finally see the light of day...

Sorry for double-post: I thought I'd share the plans for v2 of this pack.
1. Bake new textures for all existing units
2. Elves can into teamcolor?
3. All downloads to .7z archives
4. Master archive available for download eventually
5. Gib fancy front page plz.
6. Drow can into Civ5?

Warrior
Archer
Spearman
Swordsman
Horse Archer
Horseman
Longbowman
Pikeman
Chariot
Chariot Archer
Heavy Swordsman
Heavy Longswordsman
Scout
[possibilities: Crossbowman, Tracker, Ranger, Musketman, Knight, Fyrdwell, Fyrdwell Archer, heroes!]

"Heroes" can be anything - a blue-haired archer, a dark-haired red-armored female Heavy Longswordsman, gimme ideas!
"Fyrdwell" units are units mounted on deer rather than horses. I'll be slightly editing Wolfdog's Fyrdwell and packing it in here, as I did for the Undead Pack's Vampires.

Good to see that you're still working on units :) I need an Elven magic user - a Druid or something like that. Also an Elven ship would be nice :)

So you want a magic-user, but not the robed kind? Very well, I'll see what I can do.
Of course the Elves need a ship - though I'm curious to see what sort of a ship they should have. I find that many people, myself included, think of Elves as using caravel-like ships (triangular sails, low to the water); but many others think of an Elfship as being the huge, imposing type (Vasa-style).

Also, Elves really can into teamcolor! Nutty has practically finished the teamcolor version of the basic Warrior skin, which I'll use to make the textures of the other elves...
