Eliminate Post Count!

I rather like this idea, myself.

It's easy to look at someone's PC and say "They have a lot of posts, they must know what they're talking about" or "W(ho)TF is that???" I find I'm guilty of this myself.

I wouldn't make it totally inaccessable, tho. I'd leave it in the member stats screen, so if you really wanted to know how many posts someone has, you could see it. Why? I dunno. . . just seems like a good idea.

I love my post count, and while Cgannon may want his to go away, I enjoy displaying mine for all to see :D it may be a meaningless statisic to some, but for me it represent how many thoughts, how many little individual peices, little contributions one has made to this site, and what makes the site so great :)

When you get close to 10000, you stop wanting "all to see". ;)

Hide the post count or not, I get my 1000th with this post.

Post count is awesome. It gives you something to aim for. For me, getting to 1000 has been a goal for several months, because I stayed at exactly 994 since sometime in the summer.

I wouldn't mind if it goes away. It's meaningless and an incentive to spam.

you might, but I wouldnt, as I know of a website that makes curts post count seem like that of a noob, and even more so for you :p

Xen, that must be one of those places where spam roams free and untamed, and where mods hide in holes and caves at night... Somehow I don't see that happening here ;)

I think that shows my opinion on that matter.

I admire people with high post counts.

I want to be like them when I grow up.

It is important!

As has been said, it's your own fault for being a dirty rotten spammer :p

Ladies and gentlemen: this is a textbook case of a rhetorical question.

Xen: there's a far cry difference between spamming and canning spam.

When vB 3.0 is out... :p

I think maybe an alternative of each existing style that doesn't show the PC will be nicer.

And then if mods can temporarily force users to each variant, it opens up a whole lot of 're-education' possibilities... :mwaha:

Oh yeah - I've been wanting the PC hidden since before..... CG had his custom avatar? It still gets my vote. :)
