I was surprised at first everything was so long...lol I've been playing exclusively Normal speed since the last Cookbook for adaptation purposes. Anyway, on to my game...
To 1500AD (Triple-Checked the date this time!)

Something I hadn't noticed before: why are we running OR without a religion? Revolted out when I noticed this. Saved 7gpt.
Well, two things were needed: fix the economy(done!) and keep killing Mao(done!). Unfortunately, most Catas are spent so I take 10-turns peace with Mao waiting for more siege which were whipped. Finished him off in the 1400s after suiciding most of the army to finish it faster.
Ran 2 scientists+engineer in Orleans right off the bat. The idea was to get a GS for an Academy. If we weren't lucky (or if we were lucky), we'd get a GE to rush Oxford which is what happened!
Currently running deficit food to try and get a GS for an Academy in Paris.
Decided Astro was the quickest fix for the Economy so beelined it. It also helped MM but he is small and a pushover. Also teched PP since nobody had it. Went for Economics after as it helped our Trade Routes. After that I went to Communism for the GSpy+Kremlin, currently being built in Shangai. Just got rifling and I think Biology will be good next.
Cottages won't win this game anymore. There's not enough green tiles. I suggest a SE and Workshops - I've already begun irrigating our cities via Mao's former land. Current civics are: Rep/Bur/Caste/SP/FR.
JC is WHEOOHRN. Last time he went for Pacal. Might be us this time but with Rifling in hand and a Golden Age running, we can switch to NH/Slavery and wipe him off the face of the continent if we wish.

What was built
Going forward: I think taking out the continent will be easy. We can get a massive rifle army quickly. Teching Steel will also be quick. Biggest threat is JC. Mansa will be a cake walk once we bring our army overseas.

Techwise I'd be ahead of course but I'm not doing too bad right now either. Difference is production capabilities are way better thanks to the extra land. Units are comparable to tell the truth Using dirtyparrot's idea of beelining Astro turned out to be very great as it poured in a lot of science without having to get any extra building. In my previous attempt I got it also but a bit later than this time around.
Played this round but probably won't bother posting my save unless someone wants to see it.

Unlike Kossin, I didn't take the peace with Mao and moved on to start shelling down another city as well as I could, hoping to take peace after that. Unfortunately, Mao lost two cities to JC while I was doing this, and then he capitulated to JC on the same turn that the second city fell.
The rest of the round was pretty terrible after that. Julius started a war with WvO and asked me to join up, so I did. I took Middelburg, but that was all I could manage with the amount of siege I had rebuilt. (WvO now had a huge defensive army full of muskets, longbowmen, and maces.)
Went to banking and swapped to Mercantilism, wished I had gone Nationalism-->Constitution at the start of the round instead of keeping it on Printing Press.
Incidentally, I did an "alternate history" play forward from my own save and was able to Vassalize WvO there and take some of Mao's towns before suing for peace and settling into Representation/Mercantilism synergy. I let myself reload a couple of autosaves in that one (when stuff died because I wasn't paying enough attention to what units that were in plain sight were doing) but it turned out much better than my actual run. Go figure.

I forgot to mention that I bribed JC to peace after he took 1 city to avoid what happened to you. As for your round, feel free to post it but I'm pretty sure people will understand if you prefer not to.
So I conquered one more chinese city with the best chance that I though was to get the iron. But.......not so. Anyways, mao vasseled to caeser so that war stopped. The production of units was pretty bad for 1100ad so I focused on building up the cities we had to start cranking out units for our second war against will.
I built forges in most and build the heroic epic in bulgar because it had better production then even the capital at this point. I focused on beelining to rifling which we have right now. Also almost done with nationalism to start drafting rifles like crazy then possibly onto mil. tradition for calvary. Will is caeser's worst enemy and caeser is in wheoohn mode. So im hoping he is about to declare on will again soon and we can dogpile on him and hopfully take the northern penisula and the iron in his cap! Anyways here is the land. I also managed to build the banana/incense city as well to fill in our land.
Here is my stack so far. I've been building siege waiting for rifles which will hopefully turn the tide against will since he has grenadiers already.
And the status screens. Diplo still pretty good I think. Tech wise not bad only Mansa is ahead so far and will a little as well.
I will need to complete my save but I fear I made a fatal error early on. I was a bit shocked this save won the last round really as I did the Rush on Mao for a bit of fun. Still its made it more interesting I guess.
I've had a hectic week so I haven't had time to play the round yet. If the round's still open, I'll post my save tonight. (For reference, I'm on GMT -3).
Thats fine IT!! This round was slow getting off. I have completed my round now but I need to write a report.

Pretty slow round really. I failed to make JC make peace with mao and he became a vassel which isolated the Chinese captured capital. JC took 2 of Mao cities and he fell.
JC then went on to DOW Willems taking 2 cities but fighting against grenadiers. He took peace but his stack was much weaker.
Tech towards riflemen after printing press. Traded for most techs I needed. The other Ai have Scientific methods and other techs.
I do have Riflemen and I drafted and attacked Mao and JC. I took 2 of MAo city and I burn the roman captured city near Willems capital. Overall I have the forces to take Shanghai and fight off the Romans 8 strong stack.
Not the best of saves really but the other AI's dont seem over powering yet considering how early they reached liberalism!
Off topic question. Will you be running more of these games? I have followed this game. I am a monarch player looking to jump to emperor, but would like to ease in with a cookbook or succession game.
