stuff ... bribe mehmet to war with nappy ... more stuff ... radio in, start bombers ... more stuff.
That's what I wanted to hear!
what should our research path be? ...
we have a lot of trade possibilities. for instance we can get plastics, do we need it? communism is available, too for state property
Plastics is a pre-req for Fiber Optics (along with Computers), for the Internet. The next generation of troops are modern armor and stealth bombers, and they're a ways away. I think we should trade for Plastics, research Computers, then Fiber Optics, and hope the remaining AIs stay close to each other in tech so we can piggyback effectively. That would free up our commerce for rush-buying or upgrades.
I think we need Fascism for Rushmore, too. It's going to be a long and bloody war.
we probably need to switch production around to get more fighters and bombers, so that we can send our fleet down to nappy
Lots of bombers. Probably keep cities with settled MIs on panzers (planes don't benefit from XPs) and put the rest on aircraft, mostly bombers. A stack of 15 or 20 bombers is a crazy powerful weapon.
Seeing the overseas guys building space parts is decidedly unsettling though. Any possibility of us severing relations between them and getting them to war with each other?
If I'm not mistaken, GK was already in the war against Nappy/GW, and now Mehmed has joined, too. That should slow them down. But no, I doubt we'll ever get them to fight each other.
#1 priority right now should be clearing our continent asap. In my mind that means whip/draft as much as possible, wipe out GW as fast as humanly possible, and then start taking Nappy's core cities. Are we still planning a naval assault on him?
Yep, take down GW (including his Aluminum) and then Nappy. But we're out of Slavery (we demand emancipation was become crippling) and Nationalism (felt we needed the research of Free Speech, plus infantry are fast losing their lustre). Our production is good though, with multiple cities turning out a unit every other turn. On the navy ... I think the most important role is to disrupt Nappy's Aluminum, which is in carrier-range. If he starts fielding jet fighters and modern armor, we're not going to be happy. I'm not convinced we can stop his oil/coal, which are internal to his empire, until he's half-beat anyway. As long as we've got the navy posted there, it makes sense to have a few transports of marines to pick on his southern cities. Don't try to hold them, just bleed off a bunch of his reinforcements.
peace,
