This is not ok with me.

Most of that information isn't actually available to Civ VI. Some of it might be available through Steam, but probably not. They could certainly collect your IP address and some hardware information, though.

They just state they MAY collect data. It is just a blanket statement that covers all of their products. It isn't new. They are collecting the same data as before, most of which is gathered from outside the game and must be shared via those vendors (i.e. online store fronts and steam).

Wasn't that already in the EULA when civ6 was released in 2016 ?

It's definitely not new with GS. I think it may have been updates maybe a year or so ago whenever the new EU laws came into play, just because I remember similar threads about it.

I don’t understand what the issue is. Who cares if they have your information? What are they going to do? Spy on you?

If it's not OK then uninstall for sure. I'd also not do business with them anymore if you feel that way. For me on a scale of 1-1000 with 1000 being me uninstalling and never do business with them and 1 being who gives a "you know what" this would rank about a 1. Therefore It's pretty much impossible for me to care less.

That will be when they ask to link your civfanatics account.

I fight other battles, once you realise the hackers have it all anyway it’s just a ride on the principle horse.
That actually made me laugh, the principle horse :D
