Would someone be so kind as to direct me to the whereabouts of a chart or somesuch which outlines the number of turns it takes an engineer (and of course, settler) to perform its various tasks. For instance, it takes an engineer longer to make a road on mountains than on plains etc. But by how much? You know, stuff like that.

Thanks!

This chart:

has some of what you want (look at the legend in the upper right). The rest of it is generic - flat land takes 2 Settler turns or 1 Eng turn for roads, "rough" (everything else but Mtn) takes 4S/2E, and Mtn is 6S/3E. A tile with a river in it takes an additional 2S/1E for the "bridged road" and double that for a "bridged RR".

lol. Nice chart, that legend is pretty essential. My main source for info is the civ II official strategy guide that came along with civ II the collector's edition way back when the world was still young. It's a really great source for info, even containing some of the formulas in the program, but unfortunately completely deficient in the amount of turns things take, be it road making, bridge building, mining or airstrip construction.

I appreciate the info on the extra time for bridged roads. I hadn't noticed that. :goodjob:
