5 new fighters and 4 new bombers through a simple concept that promises to improve gameplay while remaining manageable by the AI.
New Air Units are part of an entirely new line interlaced in the technology tree with the existing one.

A greater variety of fighters and bombers will be involved in the game with the same upgrade rate than before.

  • (9a) Enhance Air Warfare 4VP is compatible with all good modmods for VP.
  • This mod takes control of the animation speed factor and sets it to x1 by default.
    To change the speed of airplane animations, open Faster Aircraft Animations.sql with Notepad2 or Notepad++ and follow the instruction.

Ooh, shiny. Can't wait to see it, and almost want to beg for a preview. Regardless, ENW is an important part of my games these days, and I look forward to trying EAW out!
 
May I ask what are the difference between the new fighters and bombers compared to the ones already in vp?

- Full test in progress. I want to make sure EAW doesn't break anything in VP.
- 1 model reskin and a few Flag Icons must be redone.
- Civilopedia. Nothing done yet.
It will take me 10 or 15 days probably and it will be amazing.

Meanwhile, enjoy the perfectly stable alpha version.

New Fighters and Bombers in the sky of Vox Populi

EAW is based on a simple concept that promises to improve the gameplay while being perfectly manageable by the AI.
New Air Units come through an entirely new line interspersed with the existing one which remains almost intact.
Therefore, a greater variety of Fighters and Bombers will be involved in conflicts between civilations. Even yours...

This first release is an Alpha version.
It doesn't mean that it doesn't work! In fact it works pretty well, you'll see.

So, why it is an Alpha?
Because some features are not integrated yet, such as :

- A wicked Attack Helicopter.
- A "Gold-maker" National Wonder to counterbalance the extra gold needed to upgrade more planes. Meanwhile, I advise you to use Casino Mod.
- Most of 'Strategy' and 'Historical Info' section in Civilopedia are empty. By the way, if one of you want to help and participate to EAW, there is a job here...
- Flag and Unit Icons are not over.
- And most importantly, you'll have to tell me how good or bad this EAW is.

- Vox Populi (3-1) and above
- Enlightenment Era for VP
- Enhanced Naval Warfare for VP
- Promotion Flags EUI for VP
- 3rd and 4th Unique Components for VP
and all good modmods that do not affect Air Units mechanics

Naval Warfare are one of the best =)

Will add to my pernament mods this too.
 
Can you provide some more details about new unit lines, or unit uniques? Do you plan to add Combat Drones?
 
Here we have some ideas...
I think these two mods have very much in common, because both try to modify late game air units. It would be nice if they were compatible with each other.

Nothing in common I'm afraid!
Air units are special unit_class coming late in the game. Allowing me to propose this new 2 lines interspersed concept.
Recon line starts at turn 0 because recon at turn 0 is all you need and, evolves on a special combat unit when recon becomes useless.

However, I look on the work and reflexions of amateurgamer88
Wait and see how things evolve. It could be an inspiration for a bigger project.

Amazing mod Asterix.I try this one out but what about adding some unique carriers(Nimtz,De Gaulle etc) since they are connected to air warfare ? Also what about to add some planes to be made avaible for building with the "project" option ? Like with the Manhattan Project.Example moving them away from the Ideological tenets and naming it "Superior airforce project" and who first builds it gets the access to the unit. It would make them much more unique and valuable

I'd like so, but I don't know how to code a "project"

My focus for now is to make a simple, pure and perfect EAW version 1.0

Nice idea. It would be good to have one bigger overhaul insted of couple small ones. Easier to make them compatible.

I also shared some new ideas, because current modded lines are not good imo. Look at what I suggested and share your opinion if you like.
