Tried EDGE 72 and played till around T98. Not sure when will I have time to continue so I just post a mid-game recap.

Spoiler Turn 98 :

Went Liberty and settled 6 cities, took one from Sweden. Gold and happiness is quite hard to find on this map. Might have been better if I went for tradition instead.

I wasn't satisfied with how I played #89, so I tried a different approach and won a T269 DomV
Spoiler :
Not quite total domination, but pretty close to it. 5-city Honor-Commerce-Autocracy with a splash of Aristocracy and Secularism. Honor is lots of fun with Janissaries; I had a level 11 Infantry in the end:

I didn't go for total domination as I didn't really have the happiness to burn multiple cities simultaneously, so it'd just take too long. I did clear my continent, although Casimir managed to sneak in some settlers in the late game.

Poland was a powerhouse again, and the Celts did surprisingly well too, considering they were eliminated by the Aztecs the first time. In this game Napoleon eliminated Russia by about turn 60 and I managed to get Petra very late on turn 93. Other wonders went super quickly though, almost all of them on the second continent. This was a bit annoying because capturing happiness wonders earlier in the game would've been very helpful.

EDG 93 turn 330 loss

I give up. The elusive 1st cultural victory on deity might be unreachable. Had started replaying some of the older one, but I wanted that first CV, so played this a few times.

Spoiler :
1st game I settled turn 2, but Ethiopia beat me to every wonder by a couple of turns, and there was a salt right by the coast I could not find a decent settle spot to get, so I restarted and moved to the coast and settled turn 3. Made some mistakes, and saw some nice room for 7 cities, so retried as Liberty, but could not make it work. Took 1 final shot. Moved to the coast again and went tradition. Got the early wonders I wanted, settled 4 cities in my little area and got rolling. Cargo ships has Paris and Orleans growing nicely, and Orleans had great production, so was able to get some wonders there. Took 3 workers from Ethiopia, 1 from Ormus, so this was the best start I could get.

Wanted a 5th city over by the Ivory, but Atilla beat me there. He was dominating early, but wasnt really my concern. That left me a little vulnerable as I always forget the AI likes to ferry land troops across the water, so I wasnt fully prepared when Atilla sailed over and attacked Paris. I managed to hold him off, but lost most of the ships I had been trying to build up for an eventual attack on Ethiopia, as I figured I would need their capital as they had been building alot of important wonders in the earlier runs. Rebuilding ships and repairing improvements took some time, and set me back.

Long story short. By the end of the game, I was generating 890 or so culture and 830 or so tourism per turn. I was influential with Ethiopia and Greece. Everyone else but America and Poland was already gone. I was 7 turns away from America influentiial, and 51 from Poland. I was 5 turns away from a GM, with faith enough to buy 2 more, but it was about a 10-12 turn trip over to the closest Poland city, so I was around17 turns away from concert bombing him.when America launched. I had open borders and trade routes, broadcast towers in every city

Not sure what else I can do. Ive never generated anything close to that kind of tourism and still wasnt really close.

It sounds like you had a lot of fun! Units with 11 upgrades! I am sure I have never experienced anything like that!

I have a suggestion. Try out GotM160. There are very helpful write ups in the correlating tree!

EDGE#96: Early overdrive required

This is a fantastic start with a lot of possibilities. However this is no automatic win. The task is to play as England on an unmodded Pangaea map with Standard size and Standard speed. QC and QM are turned on and all VCs are enabled as usual. My idea for this game was to go with HCA, however my own attempt failed and I wanted to try again. With a more peaceful approach I got a smooth journey. Whatever you decide to do, remember to expand fast. Your neighbours are aiming for the same locations. In addition a couple of the AIs seem to do very well here. Anyway, I am sure you will like this one! As in some of the previous games, I also upload some pictures from my game, this time from t91 and on the win on t287.

There is a short recap of my second game behind the spoiler.

Spoiler :

SIP (even if I knew all the possibilities to the NE) and the BO was Scoutx2-Shrine-Granary-Settlerx3-Worker. I stole one worker from France and one from Morocco. I also cleared a camp containing an incan settler. First expand to pick up Mt. Sinai and second to the N to pick up some more Salt but also Citrus and the third expand coastal to the W to pick up Sugar. In my first try I went to war early with Napoleon, but that was not a good decision. He built a million units. This time we stayed friends throughout the game. Pocatello expanded a lot very early on and Morocco got kind of caught in the middle with nowhere to go. 4 city NC on t92 and Education on t114. I got the 2nd religion with DF/Tithe/Pagodas/Religious centers/IP. LToP was the first NW I managed and overall they went very fast in this game: the Incas, the Shoshones and France all built wonders left and right.

In the midgame, I went to war with Morocco and took Rabat, however Pocatello took the capital and Morocco was down to one city (which I took later in the game). The Shoshone had a fantastic game and I need to limit myself to pursuing a SV. The cities were nice and I was second to Industrial but need time to improve the Coal and France went Order before I could. However I followed and was able to propose it as World Ideology soon after. This meant that the Incas and Assyria join the Order club. Pocatello tried to go Authocracy but they revolted very soon and joined our club. I also managed to build the Louvre.

In the endgame, the Shoshone took out Songhai, France took out Venice and I took out Morocco. Pocatello had a fantasic game, ending it on 31 cities while still staying competitive in the science race. My bulbing was too much for him though and I won an undramatic SV on t287. SP: full Tradition, Commerce 2, Exploration opener, Rationalism 5 and Order 6.

Started #93
Spoiler :
Stunted early game, mostly due to limited scouting options - both 1-tile passages were blocked by barb horsemen, I had to wait for Optics and open borders. Stole 2 workers from Haile and pillaged one of his caravans, and stole 2 workers from Ormus as well. The workers got in position to start improving tiles quite late too, which slowed things down even more.
Spoiler :
20200719224644_1.jpg
4-city Tradition; Petra T83 in the capital -> T92 or 93 NC -> settled 3 more expos including a cheeky little city next to Uluru. Not sure why Ethiopia hadn't claimed that spot... I invested into a couple of safety units as I figured I might get attacked, but the reckless expander debuff was gone very quickly and now I'm friends with both Persia and Ethiopia.

I had to settle Orleans on the sheep tile because I sent the settler unescorted. Of course, a barb camp spawned in a way that blocked me from settling the spot I actually wanted.

I don't have a plan for CVs, so I'm sort of just approaching this as a (slow) science game with oddities like Aesthetics opener and Sistine Chapel so far.

Oh, and I lost Machu Picchu by one turn. That was annoying.

Edge 78, Inca. Domination Victory. I got the aztec capital 92, which was very late. However yeah.. I got the victory and I recorded it. I will upload it with commentary for anyone who wants to see it.

Edge 96, england. Resigned due to being mad. A lot of things went wrong.. Well you can't win them all! I was in a good position around turn 110, but then it just went down the drain the game. I am very disappointed with myself.

That is unfortunate. In some weird way, I take comfort in the fact that it seems EDGE#96 at least isn´t too easy!

Great. It will probably be ready tomorrow if I upload it today.

Yes. However I didn't take any break from the last game. Which was stupid, so fatigue was kicking in. Sure, I think this England game was tougher than the Inca one. I think I will go with the England one again later on.

I didn't settle it. I settle one other city on the coast. Killed of the northern neighbor and the glorified CS. Then it went to crap everything. Horrible game. Sometimes you lose, but of course I get upset! Haha.

Sorry. I was commenting on vadalaz´s game with France. But indeed I share your frustration about EDGE#96.

Finished #93 with a T237 CV, although I got the victory screen while the AIs' turn 236 was processing - more on that in the spoiler.

Spoiler :
7-city Freedom, won the IG on T224 and researched the Internet a few turns after. America was the culture leader and dominating the entire game, Patronage-buying all the CSs and Autocracy-bullying the AIs. Several of them had given Washington cities in peace deals to end wars that I sponsored.

Persia was first to Archaeology so I figured I'd stop their archaeologists from ever getting anywhere by bribing Attila to attack Darius. This worked and I got enough artifacts to fill all my 7 museums. Attila took the war a bit too seriously and killed Persia.

And can you imagine? Just before the turn that I was going to become influential over the Huns and win the game, Washington liberates Persia and avoids loss by CV! A smart move by the AI, even if completely accidental.

20200721175332_1.jpg

Naturally I bribe the Huns and America to attack Darius, and Washington is kind enough to kill him in one turn, triggering my CV.

Very interesting coincidence! Also in my game Washington was running most shows. However, after a fantastic start Attila was out of the game due to a united front from America, China and Poland.

My Inca game is up now! Also, the England game.. I'm about to get a DV anytime. Just having a good time haha! So I will upload that game tonight hopefully!

EDIT: Turn 321 England DV! Pretty late but it was a good victory!

I finished Edge 87# with Inca! A cultural victory on turn 290. :)

Spoiler :
I settled on the hill and went for Pottery. Found a culture ruin just in time to open Piety and rush the shrine for a chance at Sun God, which I got on T27. I got my religion from Stonehenge, and then started to spam Chariot Archers to take down Montezuma and complete the challange. The Aztec capital fell on T77. I didn't find Mt.Sinai in time for early settle but I settled it later anyway.

t77_took_capital.jpg

Things got interesting now. Arabia had settled an undefended city near Mt.Kailash and attacked it and puppeted it quickly. Dido had sent her armies towards my area, and because she built Petra and Chichen Itza I started coveting her lands. I attacked with 12 chariots, 2 horsemen and 2 upgraded spearmen. She built War Elephants so I used a citadel near her city, thinking it will be easy to take it down, but I was wrong. The elephants were too strong and I had to either retreat or sacrifice some units to complete the attack. Elephants were one-shotting my chariots. I decided it's worth it and lost 7 chariots and the 2 upgraded spearmen but got the capital on turn 109. The units she sent were many, but obsolete by now, and I easily defended. Denmark launched a sneak attack that was harder to deal with but I had the citadel which I used to kill Aztec so it was good for defense now.

Macchu Picchu would be the last wonder I would build until the Modern Era. (I built Broadway, Eiffel, Cristo and Statue of Lib)

After that only Babylon looked like the tough civ but before attacking him I had to deal with Portugal who started to expand close to me. I had to wait for Crossbowmen in order to raze her cities. During the game I allied Sofia and Sidon and I was receiving Chu-Ko-Nus and Keshiks, which made conquest very fun. I got 5 of each eventually, heavily promoted. With their help I dominated the map and slowly captured cities. I kept the good ones as puppets. I bullied the AIs for gold all game and allied all CSs.

I had a productive capital who reached ~ 375 production at the end, but I couldn't grow too easily because of many turns of unhappiness, and ended up with only 45 citizen despite sending food all game. I had 13 manufactories that had replaced food so I can't complain, not to mention no ToA until T199 when I captured Babylon.

Religion: Sun God/ Tithe/ Religious Community/ Ascetism/ Itinerant Preachers
Policies: Piety 1 / Honor 5 / Patronage 2 / Tradition 6 / Freedom 10 / Aesthetics 6
Capitals conquered: Aztec 77 / Carthage 109 / Babylon 199 / Arabia 228 / Sweden ~260 / Portugal 280.
