Erepublik

Canada took control of Delaware after we helped our America brothers to cast out the abortive UK invasion. We keep it for strategic reasons- if anyone attempts to invade the US again, Canada can launch attacks from Delaware to block enemy initiative and prevent anyone from getting headway into North America from across the Atlantic. I can explain more thoroughly if you're wondering about specific mechanics.

I'm 'James Wiens', currently living in Alberta, Canada (not by choice, just because it has a Q5 hospital)

Version 2.0 of erepublik has been released. Military combat is the biggest change made in this new version. It is much more hands on and includes hexagons (much like another new game, wooo) which may appeal to many who like civilization.

Old players should try it again, new players should try it. Be advised there is a one week period without battles to allow people to adjust to the new version.

Edited: Images were huge

I was in the training corps when the version changed. Hopefully I don't get kicked out.

I gave the new version a few days, than gave up. The old version was fine, and they managed to shaft us with the new version. It's more dissapointing than Empire Earth III.

EDIT: Muahahaha, I am just tired and stupid. Ignore this post.

No nothing is more dissapointing than EE3
I'm still a fan of EE:AOC (Don't like two all that much)
No matter, if I remember correctly the company responsible for the series is gone :(

Yes, I think we can all agree that EE3 was pretty pathetic. And to stay on topic, it appears that eRepublik has gone the same way that Empire Earth has.

Now that is sad.
Tried Erepublik once, it wasn't great, it was actually pretty recent, couple months ago I think.
For those of you who play I think there was a war going on between austria and someone.

I'm kind of surprised this thing is still around. When I was in it Poland was always trying to start war and so was the US. We got destroyed by Canada though. Thats when I knew I would never play the game again ;)!

Wow - damn, I actually missed out on some conversation here about eRep! Well I've been busy in the game, and haven't checked in here for quite some time.

As pesgores has said, the community aspect of the game is unmatched. Especially as a leader or member of a government, you meet people from all over the world.

I'll keep this short but I'll say the country I helped rebuild (Australia) be politically taken over by Indonesia... that is, Indonesia cheated the citizenship (Congress approves or disapproves people wishing to join a nation) rule by having it's new players register under the Australian flag. At the time, of course, Australia actually thought it was under a legitimate "baby boom". To then see Indonesians appear and manage enough votes to outgun us and take over our in-game government completely, is really disheartening. It's one thing to attack a country, but a 4-month PTO frustrates the average player who ends up quitting, mostly. The eAussie population is literally no more, with only the diehard players still going. Quite a shame!

That all said, I'm back here at civfanatics now (and really only 2-clicking on eRepublik), looking very forward to Civ V :D

I'm currently promoting the heck out of Civ V among my network of friends in eRepublik, so hopefully I can bring many over and convert them to Civfanatics ;)

Well it was fun when PEACE GC ruled the US and I fought with a courageous band of freedom fighters but I've since gotten bored with the game. Maybe I'll come back when the US is in trouble again.

Lul Cottus you here?

Anyway,

ePortugal attacked eUSA, now alone against 14 allies and with 1 ally, only enabled if the USA attack Portuguese original territory

This game isn't worth playing anymore. I have no clue why I do anymore, I just two-click now. Ever since Rising the game has progressively gotten worse. It got better for a bit once the admins announced Rising had failed and tried to save it - but the admins got greedy and now the game sucks, ten people in the world basically fight the world's battles, buying gold for real life money and doing millions of damage points when normal players can do a couple thousand.

It's true that people who are willing to invest real money into it, can rule all battles if they want. But there's a lot more to it than fighting. Don't underestimate the Social part, like getting involved in politics and/or the economical life.
As of this week eUsa has declared ePoland as Natural enemy = world war 5 (in eRepublik). Everyone is anxious and waiting to see how they will be influenced by it and how they can cope with it.
