Error during Steam installation

Received the following error message during the installation of Steam:

Error

Steam.exe (main exception) ERROR: deleted Steam.exe but file is still there


I did not have Steam on my computer before I initiated the Civ5 installation process. C++ and DirectX9 seemed to install np. Any ideas as to the reason for this problem with Steam installation?

That did it - thank you ori. :b:

Note that when I ran the install for Steam I got the option to Repair or Remove Steam, so the game did try to install Steam and failed.

I then chose to Repair the Steam and that failed, so I removed, then re-installed via the Steam client, and then I was able to install the game. FYI in case this helps anyone else.

When I tried installing on the laptop I got a similar error regarding UAC needing administrator privelages and quit. Thing is, I'm already in admin mode. Regardless, I ignored the error, clicked on the DVD drive to install again and it resumed where it left off installing everything okay.
