I hate to be THAT girl but getting ToT up and running has reminded me that I find the ToT graphics ugly as sin, In MGE switching out graphics, mostly the terrain and cities, would be relatively easy but and of course I can always cut and paste in MS paint but I'm wondering if there's an easier way for ToT, any utilities I could use.

I like pretty graphics. La Belle Epoch, Europe in Flames, USA2013 pretty. There's also the issue of how to use the new terrain types (and how you can manually put resources down wherever you want).

Look, I need the old scenarios, the ones that came with Conflicts in civilization and Fantastic Worlds. Something I need if I ever want to make my Fallout scenario is I need the city buildings of one of the fan made scenarios, the other USA under attack from foreigners scenario. It IS the construction building from command and conquer but it's good stuff.

If it matters, if I was gonna practice scripting, I'd like to take the Imperialism scenario and add in the stuff from the Jules Verne scenario, and maybe more. But I need the scenario to look at it. And then there's finding the stuff I like. I know anyone can make a map but making a gif is going to be hard.

What I really want, are modern units in the style of Europe in Flames:

I'm looking for stuff in that style for the Recon vehicle 231 and 234 for Germany. It's kinda been my favorite since panzer general 2 because it ran over infantry like a tank, but had all the recon functions. I mean heck if someone could get gifs from panzer general 2 and resize them that would be AMAZING!

And I guess, is there any way to make the city screen in ToT much, much larger and zoomed in so the icons and units aren't teeny tiny?.I gotta swipe all this out for my own uses but I'm looking for best practices for scenario building.

Hello and welcome Konig15. I think that years ago you made several multiplayer scenarios for MGE. I found them very well done and with excellent graphics. Including graphics improvements in ToT is much simpler than in MGE (graphics of Fairline, Catfish, Tanelorn or Curt Sibling), because there is no loss of color or quality. For conversions from MGE of scenarios I recommend the Catfish page http://users.tpg.com.au/jpwbeest/, in which I learned. Also go through this https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/modified-scenarios-workshop.410838/. I have uploaded the Verne scenario for ToT in which you were interested. There are also more scenarios, although I deleted many of them with the idea of including them in scenario downloads, but I haven't had time. And here you can see where they are scenarios: https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/categories/civ2-scenarios.79/. The page http://sleague.civfanatics.com/index.php?title=Main_Page is also very interesting. Waiting for your next scenarios. Cheers

One, I thank you, Two, I'm sorry you have me confused with someone else. I've never made a scenario before. I'm coming back to Civ 2 to make scenarios based on something I actually like, which is tightly scripted scenarios.

If you're still willing to help, and those sources are a BIG help, can I ask what kind of scenarios do you like to play? Era, single versus multiplayer, pretty graphics? Me starting ou, there's about three or four scenarios I'm thinking of tinkering with, mostly remakes. I need help and support, cause I have to cut my teeth on something.

The scenarios I was thinking of doing:
Worldwar 43, 44 (on a giga map), hich is based on World War but frankly, I didn't like the way the series went so I'm changing it or trying to allow the player to change it
Fallout (using the biggest USA map I can find, probably the USA2013 map, especially if I can resize it. It's the one I asked for help about in 2016 but no one responded to the thread until 2019. Go figure.
Afrika Korps and Up the Bootcombined into one using the Kommenai map. That MIGHT be the simplest, but as a lateral player, I want to make playing Greece viable, and the allied player can go into the Balkans to secure it from Soviet incursion. The map also includes Crimea and the Caucasus so I could make the Eastern Front a bit in there.
And then Verne plus Imperialism, plus maybe some Dracula and other awesome characters of the public domain and that time.

I'm trying to figure out the simplest I can do while setting up for more complicated stuff, it would be awesome. But my ambition outmatches my skill for the moment. Even tips on how to collect and store gif files for ease of finding what I want easier would be a godsent.

And the base sceaios, I really need those. Does no one have the Conflicts and Fatnatic Worlds scenarios? I don't want to play them, just mine them for assets.

Sorry for the confusion. I got confused with Barthi. I have adapted most of the scenarios that I like and had the graphics. I have never created a scenario or created a scenario from the beginning. And I haven't played a multiplayer either. So whatever is not a conversion from MGE to ToT I can help you a little.

What do you like? What do you want to play asa scenario? Past games. What about ideal scenarios? Interesting mechanics you've seen. for instance, the summer, winter cycles of a lot of World war 2 games, the refugee mechanics of Red Front, using railroads as suburbs, having mining be industry and you can mine plains after many many turns, again Red Front, whale hunting in Charlemagne, thee buying units mechanics from Israel War of Independence, also using the British units to literally wall off the Holy Land until May 1948, that sort of thing.

Any ideas of what you'd like to see as a mechanic? Or event chain?
And do you know anything about Fallout or Worldwar by Harry Turtledove?

 What of questions. I don't know if I can answer everything. If I start at the beginning the first scenarios I played were those of Alex Mor and his Sparta. I found the appearance in the events of dynamics that produced more exciting moments in the game incredible. I have converted all of Alex's scenarios to ToT, although the one he has about the Vikings has not been published because he lacks "modern" graphics. And what about Andrew Hoekzema or my countrymen Jesús Balsinde, Jesús Muñoz (The War of Cuba, The 30 Years War, Carolus ...) or Pablostuka's Spanish Civil War Scenario (with an adaptation of McMonkey to awesome ToTPP). Or one of the best and still "alive" in Civ-2 Techunseh ... Historical adaptation, dynamic, exciting, surprising are each and every one of these scenarios.
There is too good to choose from, that only in that small group of names, there are already more than 20 scenarios. Catfish had already converted many of the classics and I can have converted to ToT, unpublished or published, more than 100.
And
I do not remember Fallout or Worldwar now.
I am officially "retired" but in the questions you have I can help you. If you want to know the type of game that I like, you can see the scenarios that I have modified the most: Barbarossa, The Russian Revolution (in Spanish) or Cold War Flash Point.
