Ethnic tension in Lithuania

but how on Earth does that relate to poles and germans outside of Poland and Germany.

I don't know, I was talking about Poles in Lithuania until a bunch of random guys came and derailed the thread to discussing Germans.

The Holocaust was German-orchestrated

German-orchestrated and German-done. Jewish Police and most of other collaborators had no choice but to collaborate or to die for not collaborating.

Einsatzgruppen, train personnel, death camp personnel, etc. were Germans. There was some non-German personnel too but they were low-ranking.

No.

But even if the answer was yes, then I don't think there would be anything left for annexing (except for uninhabited wilderness), unfortunately.

I thought this thread is about Poland and Lithuania in the present era.

My apologies. I recently told Domen I am Chinese and he apparently decides he can rile me up by making comments about China. :)

But anyhow. Let's talk about the ethnc tensions in Wilnius.

Well. I also regret that I revealed I am Polish. :) It would be easier to talk about various subjects if you guys didn't know this fact.

I don't regret telling you where I from, since I am not very emotionally bound to any country. That's the advantage of having mixed heritage.

Oh yeah, he does that.

Perhaps he's forgetting (or never learned) that there are people who aren't obsessed about nationalities and ethnic origins.

If by heritage you mean ancestors then I have it mixed too.

Or by heritage you mean moving from place to place all the time?

I am mostly referring to moving from place to place. But in terms of mixing of bloodlines, that's very likely since a unified cultural identity was already established two thousand years ago.

In general, a thread about a real problem was ignored because of overdose of information, and not proper ones.

Let me now sum it up for you.
Unlike what kramerfan86 or Winner seem to think, it is not about what Lithuanians did during tzarist times or interwar times or Soviet times. It is about TODAY.

1) Unlike what was promised to Poland as Lithuania got independant, Poles didn't receive an autonomy (which was promised in order to get support of Poland as USSR wanted to use Poles against Lithuanian independance movement)

2) The education in minority languages, which was actually OK during SSR, is now being - with new laws - reduced.

3) Unlike what is constantly being promised (officially!) since the independance, minorities still can not write their surnames and names according to their true spelling. In Poland, somehow we do not care if someone writes his name Schmidt, Szmidt, Szmit or whatever he wants.

4) Unlike what was promised and what is required by European law, minorities can not put additional signs or street names in Polish, even where they are a majority

5) Reprivatisation is almost complete - APART from the region where minorities are a majority. There, on another hand, the land (attractive, because it's close to the capital) is being given to ethnic Lithuanians from another regions

6) The state commits gerrymandering, dividing minority-speaking areas and adding them to majorly Lithuanian-speaking areas in order to diminish ethnic minorities' result in elections.

7) The official doctrine is that all people of Lithuanian origin ARE Lithuanian. Even Radziwill family members, who don't speak Lithanian for several centuries and live in Poland, according so quite a few Lithuanians ARE Lithuanian, no matter what they say, what they speak etc.

8) It's not only Poles who are complaining, local Poles are actually allied with local Russians and Jews.

9) There is a serious nationalistic flow in historical teaching. Polish influence is demonised, while ww2 German collaboration and participation in mass murders of Jews in Poles is something hidden.

Genocide of Ukranians during Polish occupation of Western Ukraine:

lol,
in fact, Ukrainians often WERE mistreated, but this is a good one.

So, when is poland going to pull a Putin on Lithuania to liberate the ethnic Poles?
When is Ireland going to pull a Putin on the USA and liberate Massachusetts?

Poles are autochtones in Vilnius area, Irish in Massachusetts are not.
Poles are a majority in Vilnius area, Irish in Massachussetts are not.
Vilnius area was part of Poland, Massachussets was not part of Ireland.
