actually its a myth that most mods dont run on macintosh. yes, some of them do, but with the correct know-how to change them coding STUFFS one can run just about anything. but when it starts talking about depots/whatever/fireworks etc, that means to recreate everything.
Sorry about that. Just what does the Civgamecore.dll do, and why is it necessary for this mod, and not others? I didn't think any python or SDK work had been done on this one, yet...
I think that the AI Autoplay requires a changed .dll for one.
I'm almost done with the new map. When I'm finished I'll post here and send the files to anyone who wants them. I don't want to make it public quite yet because it probably could use some serious improvements, and the new update (0.45) will probably come in a week to a week and a half. Could take longer though since I have to put in 33 UUs.
I'll tackle the Arab cities if you like. What is the criteria? Cities like Aleppo, Damascus and Cairo are obvious choices to me. But what about Jerusalem? Should one of the criteria be cities prior to the First Crusades?
I'm almost done, just have to put in a few hundred more resources, and if anyone would like the new map to test while I finish the mod, just say so here and I'll send you a PM with it. The new civilization is the Arabs, capital Damascus. Damascus is already built at the start of the game and is the holy city of Islam. I am also thinking of starting the Moors with state religion Islam and Armenia with state religion Orthodoxy.
Yeah, I think at least on the main map, all of the civs should start with the religion they had at that time. Moors usually turn Catholic in a regular game, and Armenia becomes either Jewish or Muslim, which is not very historically accurate..
Khazars were Jewish, but the Tatars are not Khazars, and they should start out as pagan. It was only later on that they converted to Islam. You got Hungary wrong, they were Catholic. Every thing else is right, but I am just not sure of Lithuania. Also, in my opinion the pagan religion should not have a holy city.
If the Pagan religion doesn't have a holy city, in a few turns a random city will become the Holy City. I looked into Lithuania, and it should be Pagan. It didn't convert to Catholicism until 1377.
