After many years of following the herds throughout the vast lands of the Olonbulag, Bilgee Naranbaatar looked at the sky, the ground, the river and the pastures. And he liked what he saw.
He consulted the other members in the Elder Council of his tribe the White Wolves.
"I've heard people say life has been good for us. I know it can even be better. It is time we change the way we live in the land of our ancestors."
Seeing that the older herdsmen were paying attention to what he said, he continued:
"I took on the responsibility for our people, our cattle and our grassland more than a decade ago, and I've seen the livestock population more than double.
We supply twice as many cows and sheep as other pastures. Our most important responsibility has been to protect the grassland, since it is the foundation of livestock raising."
All were nodding in agreement. Bilgee continued: "But now it is time to change our ways.
We must live in one place and grow crops and wheats, while our young men hunt the surrounding lands.
In that way we will always have enough food on the table and grow strong as a people."
This is the start of the history of the White Wolves, masters of the Olonbulag, farmers of corn and wheat...
