Expedition modules

An Explorer unit expends its one and only Expedition module the first time it invests the several turns to extract whatever benefit a satellite crash site, alien bones, etc. has to offer. But exploring the Civilopedia, I'm not finding any way to replace the expended module. What is required to get the Explorer unit fully functional again? Do I have to march the unit all the way back to the Colony site to do so? That would be a monumental waste of time. Makes the Explorer unit like a ball-and-paddle toy: Go out; come back. Go out; come back. Go out; come back. Can't base send out a supply vehicle with a replacement? Waste of a LOT of productive exploration time.
 
You can increase the number of modules with Supremacy points.

Or you can build more explorers.
 
You can also increase modules with a Prosperity virtue, but yes, returning to a city is how you resupply. Note, the virtue and Supremacy 1 will resupply you in the field.
