Experiment 626's Solo TDG

Well, the CAT Scan went well. At least, I think it did. They injected this dye into my arm, and slid me into the machine. All of a sudden, I had a HOT FLASH! (I'm a guy. Guys aren't supposed to have a hot flash.) What a weird sensation.

Has anybody else had a CAT Scan? Or a Hot Flash? :crazyeye:

I'm too old to have hot flashes anymore...at least for the usual reason...but I remember them well. :D They're usually an upper body thing.

And, yes, I had the same thing happen last year with my CAT scan, but the location of that particular "hot flash" made me think I should have worn a diaper. Thank goodness it was just an illusion. :mischief:

Your doctor will probably discuss whatever they find, if anything, within a few days. Let us know what s/he says.

What's a 'hot flash'? At the risk of being exposed to new materials that may be undesirable, answer if you believe it proper.
Not sure about proper, but it's something that every male should be aware of for being sympathetic to his mother, grandmother or spouse. It helps a LOT if a man understands.

Women get them during the years before they complete menopause...usually between ages 45 and 55. It's caused by fluctuations in hormone levels. You can be almost anyplace and suddenly it feels like the room temperature has gone up by 20 degrees and you begin to sweat...not usually heavily during the day...and mostly in the face, neck and chest. If you can imagine some time when you've been nervous and your hands get clammy, it's a lot like that and you can't control it. It generally lasts about 5 or 10 minutes. Very embarrassing if you're in a business meeting or at a party.

It's much worse at night. You can wake up in the middle of a winter night, feeling like it's mid-summer, sweat pouring off of you and it feels great to throw off all the covers. Then, after a few minutes, you are freezing cold and soaking wet. It used to drive my husband crazy if I was lying close enough to get him wet as well, and he'd say, "Oooooh, get away from me!" Then it's time to change the sheets.

With the CAT scan it was caused by the dye they shoot in your veins and felt very similar, but mostly in the groin area.

Unfortunately, my wife has them at times, but they aren't as severe as yours gma, at least no yet. Thanks for the warning.

Lucky for me that I'm too old to have them except in the case of a CAT scan. ;)

Hey, Experiment 626! Any word on when your doctor will give you the results of your scan? or has he done that already and told you you're alright? I had to wait a week and was petrified not knowing for sure. If you're still waiting, I'm sending you a cyber-hug.

I haven't got the results yet. I still have to go to the specialist to take a look at the inside of my stomach.

Thanks for the cyberhug, gma. :D

An endoscopy, I'll bet. It's not bad at all, except for the nasty banana-flavored stuff they give to numb your throat. Yuck! Maybe you'll get lucky and get something that tastes better.

But you'll go out like a light and wake up when it's all over. I remember how scared I was before they did it though...the very idea of having a TV camera in your tummy leaves too much to the imagination.

Colonoscopies are similar, they just approach from a different angle. I was so scared before I had mine I started telling my wife were things were in case she needed them after I was gone. It's silly now, but I was scared.
I took my dad for a few endoscopies, he was groggy but it's not a problem, just have someone there to drive you home.

Yes, indeed they do! :rotfl:

Well, they did a CAT Scan of my head, and they didn't find anything! :crazyeye:

According to the phone nurse (that's her title), the blood tests were fine. She then went on to say that my White Blood Cell count is elevated. Whatever that means.

I have to have 2 more appointments (one with the GI specialist, the other with the Endoscopy). I then get to schedule another appointment with my Doctor to find out what everything means.

Oh well! Happy Day, you Turkeys!

I mean, Happy Turkey Day, Everybody!

Well, I hope the stomach is ok, and your overall sanity as well.

Looking forward to a new game next year.

Merry Christmas, everybody!

My colonoscopy is scheduled for Jan 11. Sounds like a lot of fun.
