Extra City names

Hi,

Fairly new to the forum so was after a bit of help if I could?

Having been fed up with the "Limited" default city list, I've gone in and edited the default names file and added some more cities along there

However, when it comes to building new cities, the game seems to ignore all my additions and goes
Leicester, Carlisle, Ipswich, Naples, Issus, Cunaxa
instead of
Leicester, Carlisle, Ipswich, Portsmouth, Berwick, Coventry, Southampton et al

Have I missed out on editing another file that would allow this to work?

P.S, I've taken some advice from this thread:

but still doesnt seem to want to work

Is your cities.txt in the same folder as the save game/scenario file/whatever if you're playing otherwise non-vanilla, and does your civ name match the one in said file? (The former, especially, double check on Windows 7 upward if you haven't taken ownership of the .../Microprose/<civ 2 version> directory properly, it'll actually save the file to a linked region in the user folder or even refuse to save.)
