Face of Mankind is a first and third person Massively Multiplayer Online Action Role Playing Game set in a futuristic persistent world. The game was played from a variety of points of view. It was designed to emphasize roleplay and community, using a faction system and player-driven politics.

Players interact with each other in a freeform universe, consisting in a series of locations spread across various planets. Major roleplaying-based storylines, purely optional, are started and run by Duplex staff. Players in a position of power may also affect gameplay by setting a faction's agenda, creating long-term political, economic, or military goals, which are broken up into missions handed down through a faction's hierarchy in the form of player generated and driven missions.

I found the most profitable business in the game: killing people in NYC and stealing their items then putting them up for sale

LOL, how do you manage that? Yesterday I saw someone get owned by, literally, 20 police officers.

Trying it.
Walked around and couldn't find anything to do, just about all the other players i saw killed me a couple of times. Tried joining a group but they all had only 1 or 2 people in them and I couldnt find where they were anyway.

None of the tutorials or anything seems to give a good guide to really get started.

Help?

yeah, this is kind of the same experience I am having with the game...

I was really lucky 'cause the day I joined the game, I was walking around, exploring NYC, when a BoS guy (enemy) strikes me and I run through a portal to escape, but behind me comes a LED (Law Enforcement Department trooper) and stuns me with a tranquilizer gun. He says "I want to talk to you!" then he interrogates me about what happened. I tell him it was my first day, and next thing I know, 4 real life hours later we're still talking. He was really healpful. We also discussed real life, but that doesn't matter

The best advice I can give you: go to NYC-Training Grounds if you are lost with the game, people can't use weapons there. If you want to taste the real universe of the game but want to be safe, the Main Vortex Access area in Southwest New York City is the safest (by far) of the whole universe. People may attack you, sure, but LED will protect you really quick, since they're most usually there and all.

That's why I do not kill'n'steal there.

Also, what are your factions? I can brief you on their current situation if you need.

I'm mercenary. 2nd day, I followed someone to a dead-end corridor with a lot of turns and tried to kill them. I got in 2 stabs with my knife when they were on a mining portal, and then one more running around. Then I whipped out my RGI-9 SMG but I never killed 'em. They ran away, came back with a friend from their faction. I hid behind the pillar in the center of the room (which was small - 15x15 feet maybe?) and when they came behind it I ran outside, because I had 1.5 bars of health left. They got off some shots but none hit me. Then the police came running, one of them ran right past me, another two came running, stopped, turned around because I had passed them, and started shooting... I rounded a corner and passed another guy, who never got to do anything because I was already past him, and then passed another guy around another corner. Finally I escaped to the domed roof with the world market portals where some LED pig was shooting someone because they wouldn't holster their weapon.

I absolutely agree. It's really hard to get started. I didn't have anything to do, so I just went around the worlds. Please, share some tips on how to get started. Faction: Guardians of Mankind

Recently I've been dedicated to producing items, even being a Mercenary (which is the worst faction for item-producing work, lol).

Anybody else joined this game?
