Speaker said:It's a few models of Radeon cads. More than 5, less than 10. Out of all the video cards out there, I'd say that constitutes "a few." I want this to work as much as anyone (probably more considering I've been working on it for about 6 hours now), but let's not bite the hand that feeds us.
I know I haven't seen the tutorial. Because the game won't even load.Hypus said:I'm a Sid fan now after the tutorial that my 5yr old son understood enough to know how to start playing.
I suspect anyone that would make such a sweeping statement about Sid hasn't seen this tutorial.
What he said. I would laugh if I weren't so pissed right now.RickJay said:I know I haven't seen the tutorial. Because the game won't even load.
I admit I'm getting a little frustrated. I understand bugs happen, and a few Firaxis people are working on it, but;
1. The 2K support line is so amateurish it's really quite amusing. "Hello, I'm the Australian tech support person with no technical support skills. We're so resource-short, we can't even put you into a queue. Please call back in 24 hours so we can probably tell you exactly the same thing."
2. You do have to wonder about the production values when they misprinted the DVDs, put the wrong support line number for Canadian customers into the manual, and sent people documentation in the wrong language.
3. Let's be honest; the Firaxis guys sound like they're pretty much shooting at random. The last big question at Apolyton was "So, are the people having problems using LCDs?" As it turns out, generally not. So I guess that wasn't it. Sure, some Firaxis guys are working on this, but where the hell's everyone else?
We've already had the "Not many people are having this problem" post on here, after the "This fix works on every example" post on Apolyton, which did not appear to fix anyone's problem. It's not looking real good so far, as technical support fixes go.
At this point they are, yes, with a few people burning the midnight oil ('Trip' is still at the office trying to solve this thing). What more can they do tonight but make wild guesses? They've already tried everything they could think of. Tomorrow morning, first thing, they will be having a meeting about it, and no doubt will be making it their first priority to fix. My guess is it gets done tomorrow.RickJay said:3. Let's be honest; the Firaxis guys sound like they're pretty much shooting at random. Iolum said:I cant believe how pathetic this release has been. First I get the "French" poster, then I get the error when I lauch the game.
ATI x800 xl, 256mb.
I cant imagine how on earth did they NOT test on these graphic cards. Bet the NDA's keep the beta testers shut as well. Perhapse they should have done a reliability preview instead of the features preview to hype up this buggy game.
If in fact that happens I'll be the first to applaud.Speaker said:At this point they are, yes, with a few people burning the midnight oil ('Trip' is still at the office trying to solve this thing). I'll hold you to that.RickJay said:If in fact that happens I'll be the first to applaud.
