City gifting is perfectly legal just like gifting units or resources is. However, it seems to me the war-time gifting of nearly an entire empire to an uninvolved 3rd party is a manipulation of the rules that only serves to throw the game out of balance.

The part where I think it is bs = the time that the guy turned over his civ to the AI and then logged back into gift his cities away

I don't think there needs to be a rule against city swapping. I think it is obvious that neo quit and then logged back in with the intention of ruining the game.

Neo - what are you babbling about? My legitimate purchase of troops? He didn't gift anything I didn't pay for (either through service or in gold). You gifted cities just like another person did earlier in the game - they were losing and being a jerk.

That save is long gone.
If it wasn't I would take you up on your offer.
Truth is you are a clever player and I applaud that.
I have little patience for cry babies like Craterus22.
I was willing to keep it good game and well played till Craterus22 started crying.

I didn't complain about things being unfair - I complained about you being a poor sport who intentionally gifted cities to a civ that was not involved in the war FOR THE PURPOSE of ruining the game.

How did you ruin it?

1. Gozer may not have had visibilty to the area in question and now he does
2. Gozer makes money off of city trades
3. OR Gozer gets a free base of operations on a new continent
4. OR we go to war with Gozer and take undefended cities extremely easy

None of the above was beneficial to you in anyway.

Would everyone be cool about me gifting all of my cities (except the capital) to Japan? No? Why? because it would be the kind of thing a poor sport would do... there would be NO benefit for me to do it.

Will I donate some cities to Japan during this war? YES - I want to lower my maint and provide a base of operations in the north to an ally. That would be a legitimate use of trading/gifting cities.

Neo - I actually had more respect for you when you just quit (while whining about some unknown betrayal). And btw - you declared war on me... i didn't double turn you... what are you delusional?

How classy is it to just quit after your ally lost TONS of troops trying to defend you and then you donate cities to a completely uninterested party and not your ally? Did you try to donate cities to England? Did he not accept them so you had to donate the cities to someone else just out of spite?

PS - I think FR is doing a pretty good job running things - thanks for hosting - except for the people who scream "double turn" everytime a war starts and the people who jump in and "confirm" rules when they aren't even in this game and the people who are unable to find the "end turn" button day after day after day after day... its been a great experience

This is my pm that you call "double talking jive"? (NOTE - I am only posting my portion of the email) How many troops did I have in that city 4? 5??? Not a "whole army" to be sure.

BTW you version of what you did for me is delusional at best.
When I first went to war with Russia you promised me that you would partner with me in the war, except you never attacked Russia you attacked where it would benifit only you against India. I was left attacking Russia all by myself, even though I helped you in war with India. It is fine that you are only looking out for your civ we all are but don't be such a pansy about it when you get it back.

My biggest objection was that you gained knowledge of our continent with no cost to you... not really your fault - the trade system is wack. We can't get the knowledge out of your head, so I am not even sure that a reset would do anythiing at this point.

I was just mad that when I logged in before work today to find out that neo seemed to be trading cities away for no other reason than to be disruptive to the game.

If France gained a benefit (ANY benefit) from those trades, let me know (ie - did you trade him cities and a ton of cash on your continent so that he could retreat to safety due to his fear of me? Cool - I will beat him later then).

BTW - he claims I promised to attack Russia - that is incorrect. He stated that me attacking india would help him.

This is a false statement. You said that I would help you if I invaded india (you were afraid of india teaming up with russia against you - or so you said). I invaded india. You had a 3(?) turn "war" with Russia.

hmm, well you can trade maps, so that is not such a big deal, gaining knowledge of the continent. Although he would have had to wait for paper, but still, gaining knowledge is something easily accessible in this game if anyone wants to give it.

You are right though - no big deal. I am over it now. Just didn't think that this type of "play" was in the spirit of the game.

I guess one of the things that benefits us - is that with france donating his cities to Gozer, he essentially has made it easier to conquer them (no defense = faster domination = intact armies). Too bad for everyone else - what a great windfall for us - Thanks for the help Neo/bbfrancis!
