I suppose we are waiting for the 0.33 version for this quickstart game, isn't it ?

The .33 version is bound to be rather unstable in the beging with loads of bugs(and hence requiring quite some patches), so it might not be a good idea with pbem(as patching might prove a problem).

oyzar is right, I think we should stick with 0.32l for pbem games.

I haven't heard from Rod, I guess we will play without him.

OK, it is wise to play with 0.32 l to avoid some bugs, though I will install it as soon as it will be released !
It install it in a separate folder. So I think it will be no trouble for our pbem games.

Is it too late to squeeze me in? If not, i'd like to play Decius of the Calabim, or failing that Flauros of the Calabim.

Maybe it's time to start it now ? Feydras could replace Rod, and even Rod is still here, Feydras can play IMO.

okay, we'll start this soon. No word from Rod, so I guess he's out. I'm somewhat busy since I just moved back for college and am lacking internet at my house (plentiful and free at cafes though), but for sure I'll have it ready by the end of labor day.

Okay, this week was more hectic than I thought it would be... 1st week of college for the year...

I will make the game tomorrow as long as I get civ and leader choices from everyone. I can't generate the map without those. If I don't get your picks (i'll look back in the main thread in case some people posted there and not here) I am going to randomly give civs to people.


I have to actually check out the civs tonight/tomorrow, don't have a planned pick.

NM looked back through the other thread and have picks for everyone.


Here's the turn order... so Oyzar, I will be sending you an e-mail tomorrow. I will also post in this thread when I make the final decision on the number of points for quick start. I know the type of start I want, just not the points needed. It is not going to be very much, I'd say very roughly maybe the cost of a city x 3. But i'll say exactly tomorrow.

gah found an issue. Cities are only 65 gold, while settlers are a whopping 145 gold (or 145 hammers in game).

This obviously gives a huge advantage to settling cities, and therefore a huge advantage to any player who has an initial zone ideal for multiple cities.

So what I think I might do is say, all of us can only found one actual city. But I will give more points then so people can buy 1 or possibly 2 settlers if they want.

I'm thinking 350-400 might be the number right now. That makes so you can buy 2 cheap techs if you really want, which opens up a lot more variety in opening strategy.
