New Korean Republic

Capital: Seoul
Leader: President Sun Han
Government: Republic

History: With the collapse of the People's Republic of China's hegemony as well as the collapse of the Peoples Republic of Korea (aka, North Korea). The remnants of what was left of South Korea have staved off much of the nuclear onslaught during the Great War by utalizing vault technologies supplied by it's close ally, the United States during the Sino-American War. While South Korea did not saw action directly in the Sino-American war, they instead fought a proxy war against North Korea backed by Red China. Typically concentrated at the 38th parallel in border skirmishes.

In the aftermath of the Great Wall, many South Koreans took head and sought shelters in vaults to ride out the nuclear exchange. One major vault, Vault Seoul, opened it's doors earlier than the rest of the South Korean vaults and established a small community called New Seoul. Scavengers and explorers left the vault to establish contact with the rest of the Korean vaults as well as making excursions into former North Korea. Scavengers and explorers only reported back that North Korea had been decimated by the nuclear exchange.

The establishment of a republic came soon after the establishment of New Seoul, initially it was a republican form of a municipal government and soon grew to include other settlements across southern Korea. The government evolved from a municipal government with a sitting mayor, to a presidential republic. President Sun Han was elected the first president of the New Korean Republic.

The first industry to gain a foothold is the Biodiesel Industry, initially started out as producing a fuel to replace petroleum as a heating oil by using used cooking oil from homes and surplus soybeans harvests. Enterprising individuals soon began to use the fuel to power diesel-electric generators after salvagers began tinkering with petro-based diesel engines to convert them to accept and run on pure blend biodiesel and vegetable oils.

Military of the NKR
Soldiers
City/Town Militia: A part of the civil auxiliary of the main army who's duties are to protect their respective towns and cities from external threats and natural disasters. Many in the ranks are eather self-trained and armed to retired soldiers. They're usually typically armed with conventional weapons, but often times it boils down to whatever they can get their hands on, which includes energy weapons. Their armor range from leather armor crafted from the hides of brahmins to chitin armor crafted from the shells of slayed rad scorpions. The mayor typically serves as commander-in-chief until they're federalized in times of war, in which the president serves as commander-in-chief.

Maritime Militia: A part of the civil auxiliary of the main navy. Their main responsibility is the protection of their respective coastal towns and cities with a focus on maritime defense. As with their land based cousins, many in the ranks are self-trained and armed to retired sailors and/or marines. Much of the equipment are privately owned boats that Maritime Militiamen lend to their service. Much of their duties include life and rescue missions and coastal defense of their home towns. They however don't enforce maritime laws (That responsibility is delegated to a town's/city's law enforcement and national coast guard). The mayor typically serves as commander-in-chief until they are federalized in times of war, in which the president serves as commander-in-chief.

Regulars: The main bulk of the armed forces. Professionally trained, with some coming from militias from other towns. They've been issued with a range of conventional weapons, with a rare occasion armed with an side arm that's an energy weapon (typically lasers). Their armor consist of combat armor salvaged from American pre-war bases.

Marines: Specialist troops of the Republic that specializes in amphibious warfare. They trace their roots and lineage to the old pre-war Republic of Korea Marine Corps. While the marines are professional trained, many militia men from the more frontier and/or coastal towns enlist into their ranks. Their equipment range from conventional to energy weapons. Their armor is the same as the regular army.

Heavy Troopers: These units wield the big ticket items, including heavy weapons and energy weapons. The use of power armor is justified with the use of heavier weapons that include mini-guns and gatling lasers. Their armor consist of salvaged T-51b from pre-war American bases. They are described as a sledgehammer of the Army.

Vessels
Iron Turtle Ship: Named after the legendary ships from the Joseon Dynasty. These ships are made almost as close to the dimensions of their predecessors using old historical records. The ships themselves are constructed from iron and steel plating from salvaged sunken pre-war ships, akin to iron frigates of the 19th century. It's the first ironclad warship in the post-war world. Armed with conventional canons and deck mounted machine guns. Some prised warships are mounted with Gauss rifles, side by side, at the bow of the ship. Unlike their 19th century counterpart, the Iron Turtle ships are powered by diesel-electric engines salvaged from sunken ships and derelict diesel locomotives. Their auxiliary power comes from solar arrays that dot the tops of the ship and store electral power in battery arrays at the keel of the ship. The ships themselves are fueled by biodiesel, an alternative to using petroleum based diesel.

Dolgolae: Named for the Korean word for dolphin (OOC: I admit on using the pronounciation since I have yet to know how to transcribe Hangul). A specially made boat for the Marines to serve as their transport and landing vessel. Made by the same materials as the Iron Turtle Ship, but designed much more slender and for speed for quick deployment of marines onto the shore and/or ship boarding. The boat itself is armed with two machine gun pods guarding the landing ramp at the bow as well as two aft mounted machine guns. Flanking the pilot house, are positions for marines armed with missile launchers and RPGs to place and brace themselves as they fire their ordnance at the targeted ship. There's enough room (minus the crew) to hold a marine platoon or one vehicle. The boats are powered by derelict diesel engines with fuel produced from bio-diesel plants at home.

Vehicles
The vast majority of the equipment utilized by both the army and the marines are ether hand-built mechanisms made from salvaged parts or salvaged materiale from the pre-war Republic of Korea Army.

Holangyi: A heavy hand-crafted tank that gives a striking resemblance to British tanks of World War I. With tracks salvaged from eather derelict tanks or construction equipment that are too badly damaged to be repaired. The tank itself is flanked by two gun turrets at each side that's fitted to house a YCS/186 Gauss rifle. The tank is operated by a diesel-electric engine salvaged from derelict diesel locomotives. Holangyi comes from the pronunciation of Tiger in Korean.

Head of State: King Arthur

Government: Absolute Monarchy

Capital: Vault 3 (i.e. Cardiff) (New Camelot under construction)

Languages: Welsh, English (to a lesser extent)

History: Wales, not being a major centre of heavy industry, was largely spared in the nuclear cataclysm (though that didn't stop Cardiff from being nuked). However, the country was still beset by maurauding raiders, slavers, and mutants. Yet, in the country's darkest hour, a gang wearing ancient plate armour and carrying the banner of a red dragon travelled around fighting the horde besetting the countryside, led by a man claiming he was the second coming of King Arthur. The desperate people of Wales soon rallied behind this "Arthur", and soon he raised a large "army" of sorts to retake the country. Wales was reunified in 5 years (with most opposition being from aforementioned Raiders/Slavers/Mutants), with western England following. His new kingdom, Logres, was based on the ancient ideals of chivalry and honour, as well as Welsh nationalism (according to state propaganda, the English are either usurpers who defiled King Arthur's ancient kingdom or lost Britons who need to be shown the ancient ways.

Military:

-Militias: Militias are the largest part of the Logrian Army, with virtually every adult serving in some form. Owing to ease of manufacture and usage, the vast majority of militia members use Lee-Enfield rifles or post-war derivatives (though 'modern' weaponry such as SA80s are common the closer you get to England). They're basically little more than men and women who are given guns and told to defend their home town.
-Men-at-Arms: Your 'bread and butter' soldier. Armed with SA80s yes, Lee-Enfields scavenged from the pre-war British Army. They're also trained in the art of hand-to-hand combat, and heavy maces and flails are considered as indespensible as bayonets in combat. Combine this with the fact that Brodie helmets are the standard issue helmet and you get a very World War I-ish fighting force.
-Knights: Cavalry. Yes, they do wear heavy armour into battle, and yes, they do ride horses (though armoured cars and tanks have become popular thanks to the ineffectiveness of cavalry in all but the least disciplined opponent). They're armed with Minimi LMGs scavenged from the British Army
-Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur's personal bodyguard. Armed as the above, but have the best discipline and training in the Kingdom.

Bro, the way the math works that is the equivalent of having Luck-5. SO either make it Luck-7 and lower something else, or make it Luck-5 and add to something else. Just a protip.

dang i have been busy this week, sunday this week for sure :D

Now cracks a noble heart. Good night sweet prince:
