Fallout mod.

I am adding placeholder units now, and adding Flame's buildings to the mod. When i get that done, we can begin CLOSED playtesting with the team. As we playtest i am going to continue working on the units and replace the placeholder gfx as they are completed. I can't give you a release date, as i do not know when myself. As it will not be released till it meets my criteria. :D

What's the status...if any...on the city graphics for the game? (aside from the factory cities, I mean)
I was going to be doing a post-apocalyptic mod of my own (along with several dozen other fellow lurkers, probably) and now that I know how to make city graphics with some small level of decency I wouldn't mind making some good post-apocalpytic ones. My thoughts were:
1)Adobe
2)"Junktown"
3)Military Base
4)Reinhabited Suburb
5)Tribal
So obviously some of those would have applications in a fallout mod, depending on where you're going with it. Of course, maybe you have 4 other city styles already set up that I know nothing about, or didn't dig deep enough into the thread to find.

GRM7584, I have not heard from Reddog in a while, so if you want to make them i could definitely use the Junktown, Military Base, and Tribal types of cities. :D Would you like to also contirbute some of the other gfx we need for the mod? As i am always on the lookout for some good gfx folks. :)

hi guys i've finally checked back in, and if anyone else is willing to take a stab at making cities go right ahead if you wan't since I have little free time as of this year. :goodjob: Good luck if you decide to make anything.

Awright....I'm warming up to this graphics stuff...still, any constructive/destructive criticism on my prototype effort at a first-era Junktown series? (its a JPG so obviously its [slightly] less grainy and blotchy in-game)

Edit: slightly altered version of Scrap Cities posted with less saturation/lightness/tidiness

Grm7584, i would maybe suggest adding a couple of possible junkpiles and make the buildings a bit more rattier and decrepit, to give it that pieced together from junk look. Otherwise it looks good. :)

Not bad, try giving it a more darker saturation though, right now its too bright o fit with the exsisting terrain and gfxs. Keep up the good work though, and soon making destroyed cities will be an ease.

I think they´re good graphics but I agree in giving them a darker saturation.

Wow I just read I don't know how many pages of this, starting at the beginning, and I'm surprised it's still going. I would love to help you out Thorgrimm! Where I stopped reading and skipped ahead to the last page, people kept asking about the first and second PA, and you kept telling them there weren't enough angles. I would love to try making the other angles, because I am absolutely against not having them. They are absolutely important :D ...I'm guessing by now you have TONS of work done, and not much left? Anyway, lemme know if you need anything, I'll keep checking back.

I am a wee bit confused, what did you mean by this?
enough angles.
As in Units?

Would like to know, so we can talk about you helping. :D

Yes, sorry I was not more clear, I did mean units. I meant how the first two Fallouts used hexes, while Civ needs characters that face 8 directions...but I finished reading the rest of the posts, and I saw that someone actually made a model of the old style power armor :D. Of course I would still like to help any way I can.

OMG this is freaking insane, gooooooooood job so far, Fallout 1 and 2 were the main reason i got into computer gaming, and Tribes 1 ;).

1) How far along is the mod now 60% done? I Read every post last night and its freakin crazy how organized and how this is coming together.

2) May we also have a list of what you have to do left?

3) what is this CDG you are talking about?

4) Is there a official website for this mod or does it only exist in this post?

i heard about this mod a while back on No Mutants Allowed but never checked it out because of all the let downs so far, with anything fallout related, but it looks like you guys are going to pull it off.

Keep up the good work...

PS: i would love to join beta :)

Diocide, thanks for the compliments. What we need right now is folks that are willing to invest some time to help me with the unit conversions. :) This is the slowest and most tedious job right now. That is also what is holding us back. If we can get the units done, we won't have to do placeholder gfx till i can complete them. So if you are willing to help with that it would be a great help. :D But be warned it is EXTREMELY tedious, as you need to convert each frame. The CDG website is on the first page of this thread IIRC, so if you wish to help go there and PM me. :)

Here is the newest unit converted by MC. Damn shame he can't do them faster than one every 2 months! ;) :D

It is the Citizen pistol. This is the starting unit for The NCR, New Reno Mobs, and some minor non expanding civs. The preview has the Run, Attack, Death, Fidget, Default, and Fortify. :)
