In some screenshots i have seen people who have some brown line to mark out the fatcross of the city. How do i do that?

Wild quess would be opening screenshot with paint or other easy drawing software.

No, these lines i seen have been in a "real game" and is marking the cross. I mean, they stay there in some how.

Are you talking about that brown thing what is with Bibracte? Thats Great Wall wonder.

It may be that I don't understand the question.

There are also very primitive line drawing controls available in the strategy layer (zoom all the way out, notice the buttons change, click the one on the left - there's probably a hotkey sequence too, but I haven't learned it).

I wouldn't use it for lines that I intended anyone else to see, but for scribbling in game, it's more than nothing.

Signs can be quite useful for communicating, though.

I want to learn how to very easily draw that line in all of my games! ;)

The hotkey for dropping signs is Alt-S -- it works out of strategy view too.

I like to use the strategy view line drawing for marking fat crosses for my planned cities and existing cities in game -- but it's a pain to have to zoom out to strategy view, esp. since resource markers get turned off at that zoom.

Is there a hotkey for drawing lines on the map, ideally usable without being in strategy view as Alt-S is? If so, what is it?

Thanks
