Everybody these days thinks that Empire Earth I was the best game in that series. Good thing that it's losing to Empire Earth II and III.:scan:

Age of Empires I for me ! My best souvenir in solo...

I play always solo in rts...

I have just buyed EEIII i will be receive it tommorow or in a couple of days...

I admit i'm a fan of Empire Earth, i had EEI, i had EEII and now will have EEIII :crazyeye:

You just ordered Empire Earth III?! Man, are you going to be disappointed or what?!

Age of Empires was nothing but an extremely weak attempt to put Warcraft gameplay in the historical context of Civilization. I still play it sometimes when I feel like playing as the Yamato. And playing the campaigns. And hearing the music.

Total Annihilation, why anyone would choose anything else doesn't matter to me. I'm too busy playing Total Annihilation to care.

1) For EEIII, i think that will an average but playable game like EEII, EEIII seems to sell well in despite of ratings of the specialized press...
I think that the simplification was necessary because i feel EEII a few too complicated, i never played warcraft I, II or III but i have played AOE1, AOE2 and the demo of AOE3....

2) After if you can see, i appreciate Sim City Sociétés which is just artificially limitated, just waiting for add-on :goodjob:
All this detail for explain that i don't trust a lot videogames press which is orientated hardcore-gamer, because i'm not anymore an hardcore gamer, I was been but not anymore.... I became a casual gamer :goodjob:

3) I liked a lot AOE1 (in the late 90s) because of his context of Antiquity...
I liked less Medieval and i dislike Renaissance...
Because i think that the classical Greco-Roman-Babylonian period is full of secrets for our comptemporains of XXIth century :goodjob:

P.S : i didn't know that AOE was the copy or Warcraft

As of now, I'm a 7th grader. One of my friends is a diehard SimCity4 fan (okay, he just moved on to Sid's Railroads), and when he read that SimCity Societies had removed zoning, he immediately took a pass on the game.

Get Rise of Nations instead. I would buy EEIII just to update that game's graphics, but $50 for such a bad game?! I think I'll pass.:)

I say more : "EE3 is a good rts for casuals"
I think more "EEIII is the opposite of Supreme Commander in termes of complexity" as i understood and it's ok for me :goodjob:
I'm so tired to play rts too dificult at long term and impossible win...

But if Mac Doc Software has maked EEIII, it signify that EEII well sold, not ?
Before patch released i wasn't tempted but since the big 370 Mo patch, i get it, the patch 1.1 seems to corrected essentials of the problems :)

Ok, RoN i have it since its release, a few complicated and the world domination mode was bugged too, when i tried to use a spy crash to desktop

The ideal seems to be one day a "directAI" for ai of games, like directX or the future Physic API from Microsoft...

EEIII is the least complex RTS and Supreme Commander is the most complex RTS. If that's true, then how come EEIII is rated T while Supreme Commander is rated E10+?

You realize the ratings have nothign to do with complexity rite.......

I thought Df was turnbased?

Anyways, theese are the RTS's that I have played, and I liked all of them.

Warcraft I
Command & Conquer
Command & Conquer: Red Alert
Age OF Empires
Age Of Kings
Empire Earth
Lord of the Rings: Battle For Middle Earth

Nope, Dwarf Fortress is real time. It qualifies has one of my favorite Strategy Games (although I guess you can also call it a Sim/Adventure game also).

Doesn't beat Command & Conquer or C&C: Red Alert though.

Don't buy EEIII, is a piece of dumb...

You forgot Act of War: Direct Action and the awesome expansion High Treason. That's like C&C Generals, except with better graphics, balance and realism and gameplay and well... I saw it on the Wikipedia under See Also in Command & Conquer Generals and I could not believe that such an awesome game was lying under my nose for so long.

In fact, I play Act of War more often than Zero Hour, which I used to play all the time. I just love the game

Told you Lachlan! But you just didn't hear my warning. How silly of you.

I would buy EEIII just for a good laugh once in a while, but with its bugginess, stupid unit dialogues, Middle Eastern micromanagement strategy, etc, I'm not going to waste $50 for such a bad game. Even Civ4 costs $10 less.

World in Conflict, on the other hand, I'm quite surprised isn't winning. People play RTS games to watch intense fighting, which WiC has from the very start of a game to the finish, whereas others take a while for you to get into the action unless you're playing a scenario.

Seven Kingdoms, for sure.

What? No Star Wars: Empire at War?! :p

Why don't I see any love for World in Conflict? Gamespot rated that game the highest out of all these; even higher than Civ4!

Could it be that not that many people on this thread play much of World In Conflict?

OMG not gamespot, anything but that. Too bad I can name 3 games that (regardless of what gamespot.com says) are more well known and or more liked.

Starcraft
Warcraft 3
Empire Earth 2
WC3: TFT

and basically everything else you seem to ignore.

by the way, Civ 4 tries too hard. That's why I don't like it. Civ 3 is the best.

You just tried to justify your opinion in another thread with a review from a gaming website, dont even try to look down on him for doing it bub.
