Favourite civ

Yeah, but not when you are playing at as a heavy coastal civ.... surround the encampment with warriors and collect ships.... your enemies have to be heavy coast based as well but most of the times they will have major cities along that.

warriors can convert ships? I always thought only other ships could convert ships.

America. Every time I play them I enjoy it more and more. Very underrated civ IMO.

I always play random. No particular favorite. However I always hate facing France or Greece. They always seem to backstab me.

CARTHAGE! But we haven't been allowed to buy :vomit: it yet so I'll say:

The Iroquois or as some would say the "Native Americans" :p

I'm enjoying playing Aztecs at the moment, the other Native Americans.

I'm still new to the game in the sense that i've not played as all of the civs yet and am still enjoying trying out them out (a different one each time).

Thus far, i really like Persia (golden ages :D) and England for their amazing naval fun.

Depends on your play style
America: Expansion/Miltary
Arabia:Expansion/Commerce
Aztec:Military/Culture/Growth
China:Military/Commerce
Egypt:Wonder Production
England:Navy
France:Expansion/Culture
Germany:Military (lots of unit spamming)
Greece:City-State Diplomacy/Military
India:Growth
Iroquois:Forests
Japan:Military
Ottomans:Military/Navy
Persia:Golden Ages (therefore, commerce and great all-round)
Rome: Expansion/Production
Russia: Expansion/Military
Siam:City-State Diplomacy/Growth/Culture

Babylon:Wide Science
Korea:Tall Science/Specialists
Polynesia:Culture/Coastal Expansion
Denmark:Military/Overseas Invasions
Inca:Growth/Mountains and Hills
Mongolia:Mounted Warfare
Spain:Expansion/Natural Wonders (good civ for a gamble)

Persia is my all-round favorite.

As far as specialization goes, here's a little more detailed:
Military:
1. Japan
2. Spain
3. Germany
4. Denmark
5. Rome
6. Iroquois

Science:
1. Korea
2. Babylon
3. India
4. Persia

Culture:
1. France
2. Siam
3. Egypt
4. Inca
5. Aztec

Diplomacy:
1. Siam
2. Greece
3. Mongolia
4. Persia

Russia and China are all-around good, and England is good at nothing. America is good at military/diplomacy and nothing else.

Really? Mongolia is good with Diplomacy? Part of its UA deals with DESTROYING CS, and it's probably the most militarily overpowered civ in the game.

Mongolia certainly belongs in the military group there. Domination civs happen to also be good for diplo victories, but overall it's much more appropriate to classify them as military.

Spain is probably the most fun for me to play. The early game always unfolds a little differently each time for them.

I like Darius and China. Strong civs in mp games.

China for extra :c5gold: from paper makers combined with a machinery beeline is overwhelming.

Darius for his more than decent early UU, extra GA turns and his awesome ability to move 1 more tile during GAs.

My favorite civilizations are Babylon and Spain. I have several I strongly like, though. But those are the ones I enjoy the most. Spain is just completely different from anyone else, and when I feel like playing a Science game then Babylon is the perfect choice.

My favourite civ is the Romans because I love to build Wonders and their UUs are perfect for my aggressive strategies because I usually wait for Swordsmen and Catapults before I try to capture cities, regardless of what civ I play as, and the Legion and Ballista make it even easier.

Well, the Songhai are my favorite civ, they have the best music and Askia is by far the coolest leader (huge sword, burning city in the background...enough said). Rome is also pretty fun. I usually conquer a neighbor or two in the early game and then milk the building advantage for all its worth.

Haha yeah.

I love his background. I always put him in when i play(if i don't play him). Not only because he always buy horses at high price, but also to see him from what you already described. Apocalypse at best.

He looks like my father from the early 90's with his huge beard! :goodjob:

Mongolia : Has the most powerful set of UUs. Super fast for conquests.
Arabia : Have the best UB, can accumalate loads of wealth. Very fun civ to play as.
Aztecs : 2nd best UB in the game. Mega cities + great early exploration + barb hunting & constant warmongering keeps the game alive. :)
