Another quote I like, but isn't R:TW, is one that goes "audacity, audacity, always audacity." Arching your legions around when only 20 feet from the enemy to flank them might seem ridiculous, but it's so unexpected that it works.

It works with nearly any unit. I've been beating up on Pezhetairoi and Chrysaspides with Eastern Infantry and Cyrtians most of my present Pontic game. Like Alexander said (and is one of the quotes in RTW) "I do not fear an army of lions led by a sheep. I do fear an army of sheep led by a lion."
