Heh.

Well, my offer stands. Just name a dozen or so entries and I'll show you what I can do. (Though it would be funny as heck if it turns out that notepad is no solution, and the boxes still show up.)

Wilboman found a way to get the best of both worlds. The next patch doesnt have any of the fancy ' in it.

At least, I hope I did. It occurs to me that I could manage just fine in notepad, I don't have the English dictionary installed in my version of Word (as the bl**dy program never fails to remind me).

Is it just me, or are there no withdraw sounds? Didn't vanilla Civ4 have them?

Loki shouts "Run away!" in a manner distinctly reminiscent of Graham Chapman - what more do you want?

Glad to hear it. Every time I see a box or a place where a ' should be (but isn't), I kill a kitten.

"Think of the kittens man!"

Sometimes the civ-specific colours change in my Hippus Raiders.
Currently I am having one where 2 of the little guys appear in the correct colour (light green), but the 3rd one features a nice red which would make Hyborem envious.

Using HIGH graphics, the model for the orc archer is still the bizarre and confusing archer/spearman combination.

Two of the figures are orc spearmen and three are tiny orc archers. I'm not sure what you get on lower graphics settings.

I think that is intended.

That's a spinoff of the "squares" problem. The squares appear as a result of certain unrecognised characters: long dashes and the fancy asterisks that Word autoinserts when you write in Times New Roman. The quick fix for the asterisk problem is just to remove them.

Lately I've started writing in Arial instead, we'll see if that eliminates it in future.

You can shut off this feature within the options. Whenever I'm forced to use Microsoft Word, the first thing I do is turn off all the defaults, including this.

Oh, I don't recall seeing this one mentioned. When the Luichirp (G.G., if that matters) accept a deal, the response begins with, "What is is?"

I always thought it was some sort of "Mixed unit" but now that you mention it, this is true.

Also, with the SPider, sometimes things die ...in wierd "slow and silent" ways. Units just walk up to the giant spider, then disapear. Or "slowly fall to the ground".

Cool, Ill fix it, thanks.

@QES: That's an issue with vanilla, too. Though it does seem to be aggravated with spiders for some reason. Playing last night I had a whole series of combats which appeared to be running battles, one unit standing still while the enemy ran across the map past them and got shot on the way - it was rather bizarre but amusing :)

Heheh, I had some lizardmen running from Bambur and their bodies kept sliding down the map when they were killed from afar =)

I've noticed the following within CIV4GameText_FFH2.xml:

1) Elohim diplomatic acceptance (line 33) misspells "generous".

2) Sheaim diplomatic acceptance (line 73) ends in a non-standard character.

3) Clan of Embers has more apostrophe issues - two appearances of "Im" - when declaring war (line 105).

4) Keelyn's declaration of war (line 137) has a non-standard character.

5) Luchuirp's declaration of war (153) is missing an 's' at the end of "example" and "indescribeable" shouldn't have that second 'e'.

6) Clan of Embers tribute demand (201) has "wouldnt".

That's all I have time for right now. Let me know if you would like this continued by me or someone else. It just seemed more productive than waiting for people to stumble on them during game play.

Ya, i find myself not really wanting to report many of those "Interesting battle" bugs because they wind up amusing me to the point where its not a problem.

All fixed, thanks.
