FfH2 0.16 Bug Thread

Patch "a":
7. Added +1 Happy per military unit to Aristocracy.

Patch "b":
10. Removed +1 Happy per military unit from Aristocracy.

Not a problem. Just thought this was funny and odd.

What frustrates me, is that the military unit happiness bonus was a good counter to the civics that gave you unhappiness if other civs had them

I guess I was lucky. I was looking for the bug thread and didn`t find it. But fter a serch I saw that it was a sticky.... Else I was considering making a new one...

But; Playing in LAN with direct IP, choosing a crew causes OOS errors. It is similar to the targeted spells OOS from previous versions. I play 0.16 vanilla without patch "a", but the change list doesn`t mention this pbm.

(And I can`t believe that Kael is both working and married.... I am single and can`t even finish a game on marathon speed before he has released at least 2 new patches. So is Deathling right that the "El" thing means "god" (or supernatural) and that it should be written KaEl??)

Tricks to being productive:

1. Have your work send you to europe for 3 months where you have nothing to do but work and mod.

2. Make sure your wife is a level 60 in WoW and raids frequently.

3. Make sure your kids are 17 years and older, so they are never home anyway.

4. Recruit a talented team that does all the hard work.

By following these simple steps you to can appear to be productive (steps 1-3 are optional).

These are really sound tips.

But just a question to #3;

If I get sloppy wearing protection and ends up marrying the girl. Is it possible to give the kids lycanthrophy or some other infection to make sure that they transform from being 0 to being 17 years, and away all the time, in a few weeks ? :goodjob:

Btw; why would I wan`t my job to send me to Europe? I`m already here (Let me know if you`re visiting Oslo (Urslo)) I`ll show you the city :)

This may have been reported, I didn't read pages 2-8, but when regenerating the map, the starting settler doesn't have mobility 2 or sentry 3.

Patch "b" is up.

I got patch 'b', but the new mapscripts don't seem to be working right. All i got was an all grasslands map with a few rivers. I tried all 4, on small size.

Shoot, I was wrong. For some reason mapscripts dont run out of the mod specific publicmaps directory, just set maps.

If you sack one of the acolyte units for culture in a city with disorder the disorder disapears. Neat bug to exploit but I am guessng a bug none the less

Intentional actually, it's always been like that - they're like Great Works only not so great.

Got this error when trying to set a research path to Way of the Forests after researching Calendar.

Note: this was with patch "a"

Sure, they dont need archery and archery range, but they do need you to research leaves and get the religion to the city. So they're somewhat harder to get, inferior to even normal archers, and cost more. Kind of a worthless unit if you ask me.

It's kind of the same story with the Kilmorph unit. Less effective than your copper working units, and costs more to research Kilmorph. But at least there you get the bonus of not needing the copper you would have to have to build an axeman, and the ability to hurry production. Thats to me is worth the increased cost of the soldier of kilmorph.

The drown is about on par with their copperworking units at least with the 4 str. I'd say the waterwalking and not needing a resource offsets the lack bonus vs melee and the fire weakness. Worth the increased cost for such a unique unit.

I'm not crying balance or anything... it's that theres no reason to ever build the leaves archers... Elven just... isnt all that special.

Double move in forests make them good barb-busters that don't require resource. But then again, getting Leaves means you at least get hunters too, so the real issue is not that AoL are weaker than common archers but rather that they're not any stronger than common hunters.

Don't forget that rushing to a religion is a very common strategy. I often find myself only able to build warriors until I get my first religion (typically OO or Runes), so the religion-specific unit usually doesn't have to be much better than its non-religion counterparts to be useful. But Leaves somehow break this because hunters are so easy to get.

I'd hate to see this removed. It's the only reason I use their great work option. I don't care about the small culture effect, or even worse for the Veil, a ridiculously low amount of science for a 60 hammer unit.

Here is a repeatable error: load the game then run Silvric up and try to take out the "Vampire" hero, you will get the attached error message.

That will be fixed in patch "c".

Thats actually a firaxis error, we dont modify that file. I see they fixed it in warlords. I will update to the warlords version of that file.
