FfH2 0.25 Bug Thread

You are actually getting an AC reduction from removing the AV from that city, but you also still get the AC penalty for killing all those people. I'll change it so that razing a city with a AC spreading religion doesn't cause population AC.

This has also just happened to me in my game, and when I checked the wiki, it actually does state that only cities with no AV give AC penalties when razed. So I'm guessing it's one of the regressions due to BtS/0.25
 
I prefered the old counter too - it was niftier, and much more obvious since you're looking at the top of the screen a lot. As it is now it blends in with the scores so it sneaks up towards 40 without you noticing, unless you're at peace with the barbs and keeping a close eye on scores.

1. ship crew promotions do not display practical information when moused over. The pop-up reads 'Adds the Longshoreman Promotion', for example, instead of telling what longshoreman does.

2. Units carrying other units cannot load onto ships. I had a ship with 2 cargo spaces and could not load a hunter carrying a hawk into it.

3. I suspect that there is a problem with ships knowing when something has unloaded. I had a cargo space 2 ship, loaded on a unit, unloaded it, and could only load 1 from then on.

I'm exciting to hear about 'Shadow'. Is there anything in particular we should change about reporting bugs and such in .25 that would be more helpful to you?
 
Weird, the catacomb Libralus is showing fine in my copy. Link up a screenshot and I'll take a look.

My bad, you were right. It does show up on in the city details screen. However it does not show up on it when you mouse over it on the quick build popup screen when you city wants to start a new structure.
 
For the captured units, is there any way you can link the newly captured unit to the unit doing the capture for 1 turn (Great General style)? Maybe the same kind of promotion as Great General attachment (with a small strength bonus to reflect the presence of a helpful, though hurt, animal), but add in a 100% chance of wearing off next turn, thus spawning the appropriate captured unit.

Though this might mean you need a specific promotion for every possible capturable unit, which is almost everything in the game...
 
1. I changed the AC counter because the old method left way to many people asking what it was. The new way is less confusing (though as you say, less stylish).

Kael, could it be possible to get an option of where the AC is located? I play alot of hotseat games with one or two friends and we like to use huge(or larger) maps and every leader. The problem comes when you get to about 20 leaders or so the AC score and a few of the leaderrs themselves then disappear from the map.
 
I'm not a big fan of either the old or the new AC. The old one made tech selection difficult, and the new one just seems to lack style.

How about placing the AC at the top right of the screen--in the space made available by removing the "Age of Rebirth ___"? That seems to me to be the most logical place, and there is room since it doesn't have to display age or year like in vanilla civ.
 
That is how I would like it to work as well. Unfortunatly at the point I intercept the function the old unit (the uncaptured unit) is still in the plot. If I was to drop a converted version of the unit in the same plot it would cause a crash (two enemy units in the same tile is a BadThing). So since I assume the plot the attacking unit came from is good I drop the converted unit there.

Course in your example the plot the unit came from may not be as safe as I assumed, Im going to have to think about it.

I'm not super familiar wit Civ mod coding, but would it make a difference if you had the captured unit spawn initially with Hidden Nationality, and then lose it after the original unit is gone?
 
I have reported several possible bugs in this thread. So far none of them have been marked as officially "red" by Keld in one of his posts, which means that a) posts are lost in the mass, or b) nothing new was reported by me (which I strongly suspect :) ).
(Again, pity that Keld does not have moderator rights for editing a post and put a simple mark on it for identifying what has been seen by the team. If a "seen" marked is applied, so then we know files are now where it matters.)

However, as I am one of the few bug reporter in this thread using more images and saved files than just words, I have accumulated some files along with other files from other forums. I now would like to clean up my boxes from unused files as I am not in favor of bulky/messy storage places and I suppose that everything needing to be seen is seen.
Besides, I guess Hael and his team have too much work on their hand with Shadow for dealing much with 0.25 matters.

I don't know if it qualifies as a bug, but I found it extremely ironic that Tebryn Arbani of the Sheiam recently gave me a +4 modifier for "you are protecting the world!"

I'm not sure how difficult it would be to modify the code to make it that "armageddon-loving" civs give negative modifiers for that, but it sure is silly that a leader who's decription says: "After centuries of punishment, the goddess Ceridwen stole Ran's soul from hell and loosed it on the earth, renaming him Tebryn Arbandi and promising that he will no longer endure Hell if he causes the Armageddon. Now Tebryn is willing to do anything to save his soul, even if he has to damn the rest of the world to do it"

Let alone the Sheiam who's goal is to end creation: "...they were a people from all civilizations gathered toward one purpose: ending creation through the fell magic of Armageddon spells."

Super Yvian: Fixed

Vassal (Auric) not convertable: Cannot/will not take religions. Civlopedia known to be insufficient at this stage in development.

Religious Victory Settings too High: Intended to be that high, must use inquisitors.

Vassal taking city in your name: Nobody else has reported such a thing, never seen it addressed/repeated/discussed much.

Paid event, no Faction hit: None of the event faction hits are working yet.

Python exception asking for mana from Auric: Haven't seen anything more on this one either.

AI loves Catapults instead of things that... work: Known, being worked on.

Spell Problems: It was a problem of Sorcery/Summoning/Divine, pretty sure you are good on this now? Again, Civlopedia work to come later.

No Treant Spawning in Ancient Forests: I think someone talked to you about this. It was either the current patch problem, or no enemies were walking in your forests to CAUSE the treants.

Loading units into HN boats: Covered :)



Quite out of order, but it should help you in plucking most of your files. Seems I only recall saying 3 of them were possibly still needed for research still.
 
Excellent followup Xienwolf. Im especially confused about the diplomacy modifiers not working since thats just a base BtS function using base BtS events. Weird, but it definitly needs fixed.

edit: I tracked down the attitude problem (there were actually a few more that werent working other than just event ones). They will be fixed in 0.30.
 
Suggestions:

Lairs: Defence +15%
Forts: Defence +40%
Ancient Towers: Defence +25%
Pillaging should leave ruins.
More info on promotions (in there pedia)
State how big chance to get Enrage from Crazed.
Show in unit info what is needed to build that unit.
Give extra xp for hero slaying.
Give some xp from magic.
 
I'm not 100% sure this is a bug, but my Yvain the wood elf has been inexplicitly growing in strength. He's listed as having 9 strength in the civilopedia, but he is now at 25 having gone through (at least) 12, 19, and 21. Not that I’m complaining about having a god-like unit, but I’ve looked everywhere I know to see if this is suppose to be the case and nothing seems to explain it (unless the “+2 nature affinity” has something to do with it).

[edit]: it appears the same thing is going on with my Druids (one is now at 16 and another at 12 strength)
 
Potential Exploit : Burning Blood + loyalty, allows +1 movement and blitz on any unit without any negatives. Loyalty takes care of them going barb.

This is also a very easy combo to do, as all you need is a level 1 adept with a level in law, and a rune of kilmorph priest, or an OO priest, with body 2.

Either this is planned, or needs to be nerfed/made lower in the tree.
 
Not sure how I did this since I couldn't duplicate it.

Playing an MP me and a friend against comps. Sheim and Belseraph. I had already created 3 Archmages and then gifted my only reagent to my Belseraph ally so he could upgrade to Summoners. As one of my Mages was running through Belseraph territory to reinforce Khazak I was given the option to upgrade him to Archmage (and totally did). So I've got 4 Archmages and 3 Eaters and no idea how that 4th was able to upgrade o.0

Patch L blew up my saved game from patch K. Get runtime errors when I try to run it. If this is normal after a patch, please mention that somewhere, otherwise, please mention this "feature" under the patch notes for L.
