FfH2 0.32 Bug Thread

I never mind how long it takes. If it's so bad, then enter the city screen and manually select which tile to have the citizen work. And, now, stop whinin please.

I had a weird graphical issue when I (Hyborem) chose to switch to No State Religion in order to get Basium on my side. Instead of showing my alignment, it showed my name and score twice. Also, I was able to build the Altars of the Luonnatar at the time. When I adopted AV again things went back to normal.

Also, my screenshots seem to be completely black, so I can't show you how it looked.

I also noticed that cities which the Infernal gain through diplomacy or culture flipping do not get their free buildings like built or conquered ones do.

12. Removed the requirement for units to have more than 1 base strength to by promotions.

So.... what does this mean? that workers can have promotions? or is this entirely a coding thing that doesn't change gameplay?

I've given workers promotions quite often (in modmods, using xienwolf's worker modmod or xml modcomp based modmods), and also given promos to other weak units like Corindale. I suspect that Kael didn't mean to say strength, but movement. This probably means that melee and archery units can get Blitz now.

Edit: It seems I was right. Kael fixed the description of that change.

yea I know it's still possible to give workers promotions, after all, mud golems gain that fireball promo.

I was just wondering basically what that was all about.

Patch "i" is linked in the first post. It won't break save games and fixes the following issues:

1. Reduced Brigit to normal size.
2. Fixed an issue which was keeping "causes war" warning popups from occuring when you cast spells.
3. Fixed an issue which was keeping global spell warning popups from occuring when you cast spells.
4. Fixed an issue which would cause the infernals to lose the fallow trait when Hyborem died.
5. Fixed an issue that would cause the first unit to always be picked for events (fixed by Sto!).
6. The Kuriotates can't build Stables anymore (they dont need it for their centaurs).
7. Updated the German translation.
8. New Infernal Worker model by seZereth.
9. New Infernal Settler model by seZereth.
10. New Infernal Scout model by seZereth.
11. Reduced Griffons from 5 to 4 strength.
12. Removed the requirement for units to have more than 1 movement to select blitz promotions.
13. Fixed an issue that allowed the Kuriotates to promote settlements when they were out of city slots.
14. Updated the Spanish translation.
15. Dwarven Cannon effect fixed, they now look like AA intended.

I am getting repeatable crashes to desktop while processing turn in this save game.
(0.32i)

I just get CTDs after selecting the starting conditions and the game tries to start. Screen goes black, the diamond pointer appears and then CTD. Normal BTS works just fine though. Any ideas - even if that's not admittedly much to go on?

(XP SP2, Q6600, 4GB DDR2-800, 8800GT 177.35 Drivers, SB X-Fi, 3.17 BTS with FfH 2 032)

I'm not sure if it is some setting that I did not have selected before I reinstalled, but all the graphics are enormous right now. Cities, resources, units; terrain features (trees, hills, mountains) are fine, as are all graphics in regular BTS. Is this some change with 3.17, or did I enable an option I never knew about? I have gone through it several times and can't seem to find anything that would alter how they look, except single unit graphics, which is not enabled (nor was it when I played before reinstalling).

In my first patch i game (Faeryl of the Svartalfar) I decided to liberate a couple cities as a colony. And so, they passed to Random Neutral Leader

Edit: I just noticed that I had unrestricted leaders on. It seems that this function only allows you to select leaders with non standard civs at the start of the game instead of actually having any weird random mixed (I much prefer it this way) but that colonies truly are random.

I've got the same problem. Oddly enough I played with patch h before updating to the latest version of Beyond the Sword and it worked just fine. My friend was having the crashing problem and so we both updated to the latest version to fix the problem, and now I crash everytime it gets to "initializing graphics."

I have version 3.17, I checked the civ version and it says as much. I tried updating to patch i, reinstalling the mod, playing it without any letter patches, and still no luck. Patch 3.17 has killed my Fall From Heaven :(

Fiatil: did you also have the unofficial patch for 3.17? That could be your problem... :)

EDIT: and welcome to the forum.

Official patch 3.17 for BTS broke the game, as usual.

1) Loaded FFH2 using shortcut, entered main menu, but loaded normal picture rather than the FFH2 theme. Picked settings and tried starting game, CTD error as usual.

2) Tried loading mod through "advanced --> load a mod" option, and got an error report. Text file attached, not sure if it's helpful or not.

Nope, I've never downloaded a beta patch for Civ 4 (unless the autopatcher did it, which i would assume not). So that makes me sort of puzzled why it worked when it shouldn't have, and now doesn't work when it should.

And thanks for the welcome.

Eh, I wasn't talking about Firaxis stuff, rather about a third party effort to further improve over official patches. Before throwing your arms up, give it a spin.

FfH has just been tuned to work with the latest official patch and Solver's one; so, if I'm reading things correctly, it is to work with both. Thus it could be that you just weren't aware of this one requirement. Good luck.

You sound like you are stuck in Adventure Mode as many of us were.

The way to fix this is kindly and efficiently explained by Blakmantle in the Brigit thread.
