FfH2 0.32 Bug Thread

1. This one's not a bug per se, but could be fixed I hope. The War Cry world spell for Tasunke is activated with just one single click of the world spell button, while other Civs' world spell have (or used to have) the extra confirmation step. I prefer the latter over the former. Is this something that was changed or is the confirmation step missing for War Cry?

2. This one on the other hand looks like a bug -- when initiating the construction of a wonder (or hero), that same wonder can be selected as well in other cities but just during that initial turn. After the initial turn, the wonder can no longer be selected in another city.

Please ignore if these two have already been mentioned (patch 3.17, version h)... dang it, I just noticed you're already at version i. Doesn't look it had anything to do with what I described.

Here is a bug that I've been seeing for some time. When did elephants become aggressive? I've had them attack my scouts, or maybe it's my scouts attacking them because I get the combat zoom and all. So either I'm getting attacked by pissed off elephant bulls in musth or they are somehow landing on the same spot as my scout is, which is pretty strange pathing behavior.

It only happens maybe once or twice in a game, largely because the elephants themselves are rare. Bears and Tigers are still the biggest cause of scout fatalities in the early game.

2. isn't anything to do with FFH. The game populates the choices in the build dialogs all at once, meaning they all think they can start on the wonder.

You'll notice, however, they don't actually start building it, and the next turn it'll request new build orders again. I don't *think* there is an easy way for a modder to fix this problem.

1. Does seem like a bug, however, for all world spells no longer have the 'Are you sure?' dialog, which is sorely missed.

It's pathing issues. The scout has 2 move, but only 1 visibility, but when it moves, it moves both tiles in one go, with no path recalculation. Thus, if there happens to be an elephant in the way of your scout, your scout blunders blindly into it and gets killed.

Is there any way for this to be fixed? I've never had a scout 'blunder' into a lion, wolf, or whatever, so it seems like an unusual pathing issue.

It's rare enough that it's a non issue though.

edit: nm, just had a scout 'blunder' into a lion, so I guess you're right about them attacking the elephants, not the other way around.

I'm pretty sure that it is your scouts attacking them. The auto-explore AI for scouts tends to make them a bit suicidal. Also, the AI seems to consider HN units especially good targets for attack in general.

Not a bug. A ground-based unit will always defeat a ship... This should probably be changed because of waterwalking...

I've noticed that in the past patch this is definitely not the case. I've lots lots of water walking land units to ships.

Since victory is not automatic, I think that it is very important that the odds be made to show up.

Agreed. Especially since my waterwalkers are usually mages, so I'd rather not just blindly sacrifice them trying to get rid of those annoying privateers.

grep?

Also the Illians aren't playable because they are kind of incomplete atm.

While I agree with the less polish than other civs, the Illians were playable a few patches ago, meaning at one point they *were* ready to go in whatever state of incompleteness.

When I started playing FFH2, the Illians weren't playable at that time, so I don't know much about it.

I believe you can play them if you select Auric Ulvin as the leader, but the civ doesn't show up on the list until you do that. It will only work in a custom game.

Hyborem and I assume basium can get a Ironweapons upgrade after they get mithril weapons, which stacks on top of the mithril for +6, it's a bug I assume, but I don't mind it to much considering it's only for those two units and they -are- civ leaders.

Civ alignment when they change religions is based on their last alignment instead of original. I had Flauros and Mahala adopt RoK and become neutral. Then Mahala adopted CoE and Flauros - FoL and they're both still neutral.

This has always been how it works and i believe is intentional.

Mimics can also do this but i believe that has been reported.

This brings up a thought - why not let any melee unit 'steal' the weapon promos of Bronze, Iron, Mithril, or Enchanted from a defeated unit provided it was better than their own weapon promo and make it replace the old.

Well, worldbreak only damages units in cities, dosen't it? It just starts forest fires.

Right, I understand the part about only units/buildings in cities being damaged by the spell. However, what I don't understand is how the spell causes forest fires, but does nothing to Treants.

Aren't both really trees and, as such, flammable?

Oh well, I guess ships are not damaged either and they are flammable, but it's hard to picture a forest going up in smoke while a Treant nearby is unaffected.

Magic units, I suppose. ;)

On the similar lines, I've found that reveal hidden nationality is a little too close to the pillage button. I was getting onto a nice little earner with a war elephant with hidden nationality with movement bonuses pillaging towns until I clicked the wrong button!

A confirmation for this would be nice too!
