FfH2 Bug Thread

Thanks, but that isn't the issue. I've installed the full mod, before installing the patch.

Hmm.. attach a screenshot of your "..\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Fall from Heaven 2" directory and I'll check it out.

As Khazad, I research iron working then culturally flipped a city. The free defender that spawned was Maros.

I had a similar thing: I was following the Order, culturally flipped a Clan of Embers city, and I got Sphener. Patch Q. I'm not sure if it's related, but Rantine was sitting in the city when it flipped.

How does the game determine what free units you get in such a situation?

I've got phalanxes and crossbowmen defending culturally flipped city when I already had four of each.

Did something happen recently with the Blinding Light spell? After about 20 casts on about 80 targets, I find it's getting resisted 95%+ of the time for me. On the other hand, Entangle works just fine.

Patch q

Are you sure about it? What kind of targets are they? Where are these targets placed(perhaps they get magic resistance because of their location or their abilities)

Thanks for the offer, I figured it out on my own in the meantime - I'd been using the wrong ffh2 installer, so I downloaded the correct one.

EDIT: Never mind, cosmetic issue... moved.

A couple or bugs that I found in my current game.

Privateers can pillage resources even while they are defended. If I have a Man-O-War on top of a fishing resource on Sea Patrol duty, no ship (hidden nationality or otherwise) should be able to pillage said resource unless they first defeat my ship.

I conquered a city from Hyborem with an Obsidian Gate. I kept the Obsidian Gate after conquest even though I was nowhere near the tech level to build one. This made it much easier that it ought to have been for me to mobilize troops to other continents. Perhaps buildings that are more advanced should not be kept (or somehow disabled) when a city is captured.

edit: oh yeah....one more. In the same game, after I captured the first city from Hyborem, my units were upgraded to Mithril Weapons. I was still about 20 turns or so from researching the necessary tech, but my troops were upgraeded once they entered the captured city.

Not a bug, but a suggestion. Could you remove the creation of desktop shortcut from the patches? It makes sense for the initial install, but not for patches.

Did you have Nox Noctis in one of your cities? If you did, your Man-O-War would have been invisible within your borders.

If you are invisible, but you are next to a resource, and are on Sea Patrol, if someone tries to pillage, will your invisible ship attack? I don't have Nox Noctis in the current game I am playing, but my Frigate parked between two resources has taken out every privateer who has tried to pillage anything.

I am attaching a saved game. I keeping getting a CtD after the Bareke event and choosing the Great Engineer option. I am running the game on Vista. This is a single player game as the Khazad, using patch q version .40 of FfH2. The crash occurs at the end of turn.

Wooow, you can take a Slave when defeating a Dragon - thats cool. I'd not even change that - I'd just give him a dragonish look.

Speaking of slaves - I was able to add a (orcish-not a dragon) slave to the freakshow without having a freakshow in that city. Is that intended?

I concur. However, I think that Lizardman and Frostling Slaves should really get graphics first, as they are among the most common slaves and dragon slaves are rare. In the mean time I'd probably make Dragon slaves just look like Acheron.

I guess it is, as none of the add to freak show spells seem to have a building requirement.

I'm thinking that it would be cool to be able to add freaks of any race to freak shows, including Dragon Slaves. That slave cage would have to do a lot more than the normal ones though.

I just got the "your city is build on the remnants of a patrian city" event, but was unable to pick the first option. It triggered in my capital, and I had 6 population - the event says it only requires 3.

Is there anything else that the event requires?

Probably reported before (I saw something about a workboat more than two tiles away in X. reportpost. That would cover the first screenshot, but not the next, unless you count actual sea movement).

In the first screenshot, the workboat just sits there. I take from time to time a pirate and kills it, he keeps building a new one and then the sitting starts over.

In the next screenshot, in the city that I mousover you can see that there is a workboat with full move (it has had full move for some time when I took the screenshot) and the fishes just outside the city is no improvement.

I agree. I was just going to nominate blinding light as one of the worst spells.

I don't often have Empyrean as my religion, so I don't have a lot of experience with this spell. However, in my current game I am also seeing a 95% resistance of the spell.

None of the units resisting, including many barb units, have any magic resistance promotions.

Either the spell is broken, or just a waste of time IMO. :(

The event gives research (beakers), I believe. Maybe you can't be to far along in researching something? I got the event in one of my cities, and realized the number of beakers (something like 600) was about the same as 1 turn of research. So I turned it down...

Ring of Carcer and Letum Frigus on same plot

Patch P

Noble/Standard/Normal

Sucks for the Amurites.... they can't get to Letum Frigus without a Level 15 unit
