The Banner of The Seedumn Mosse House of Government
Settlement Name: Seedumn Mosse Government: The settlement is ruled by a council of citizens which is constantly in session. To enter the council chambers one must pay ones way in with one offering to the Patron Gods and another to the mutual benefit of the Village. Language: Plinquien is spoken by the townspeople of Seedumn Mosse though other dialects are spoken by the lower castes. Society:
The Village of Seedumn Mosse Is unfortunately located in the middle of a large and mostly inhospitable desert. It survives only because of its position perched on Seddie Bay, an almost Lagoon like and incredibly massive bay that sprawls out from the desert. Though the desert may be devoid of all life, the shallow and protected lagoon stretches out for miles in every direction and is teeming with all sorts of fish life. However since it is so shallow and filled with shallow sandbanks and natural islands the bay doesn't allow for large boats.
To traverse the desert the use of Camels is employed by the people of Seedumn Mosse these beast don't require constant stops for water and are thus supremely adapted for the desert environment. They are used to facilitate trade and contact with the outside world.
The village has a regimented Caste System. The lowest Castes are the craftsmen's Caste and the Fisherman's Caste. The Shopkeeper's Caste and the Artisan's follow closely and above them is the Musician's Caste, music being an integral part of life in Seedumn Mosse. The Highest Caste is the Camel Merchant's Caste. Which, contrary to name, contains much more than just the camel merchants. This is because it is tradition for the eldest son to take over the Camel train, the second eldest traditionally becomes the firstborn's deputy on the Camel train and then the third-born can become a profession such as a Priest. It also happens that the Camel Merchant's Caste makes up the majority of the House of Government as they can spare the time and money to be in the house constantly. Some Third-borns even take up permanent residence in the house and it is a common sight to see the Government Halls filled with luxurious cushions upon which finely dressed men are seen sleeping as the constant rattle of politicking carries on around them. These Third-Borns that never leave the House of Government are often called Carer Governmenters and after they have entered the Government Hall some never leave that room for the rest of their lives.
