Re: Invitation to APFTA

In order to facilitate greater economic tie with the URC’s allies, the Republic of Free India, Republic of Vietnam, and the Byzantoman Empire are invited to join the Asian-Pacific Free Trade Agreement (APFTA). With the reduction of tariffs and importation quotas, the consumer markets shall benefit from the free flow of goods and raw materials. In addition, the Pan-Asian Alliance shall greatly benefit from the flow of consumables, fuel, armaments, and raw goods necessary to equip and supply the growing military forces of all member nations.

The United Republic of China welcomes the Shogunate into the Asian-Pacific Free Trade Agreement. Hopefully, both nations shall prosper from this arrangement.

In order to stop the many wars and bring peace and harmony to the world, Greece proposes the creation of the Union of Nations.

More details after we see the reaction of the other states to our proposal.

Fine then.

I renounce my claims of Sri Lanka and invest another 6LPs into Infrastructure. That means that:

38 into Armies
6 into Fleets
104 into Infrastructure (52 Infrastructure Points)

Delhi Compact for the Security and Prosperity of the Asian Continent

As the revolutions that have shaken the world die down, it has become clear that the old order in Asia can no longer be upheld. The collapsed British, French, Dutch, and Japanese empires have left a vacuum in the region. To prevent Asia from falling into a turmoil that would insult its glorious history, a new order must be established. The purpose of this treaty is to establish a new organization to fill the breach; a Greater Asia Mutual Security and Economic Organization.

ARTICLE I. Signatories to the Delhi Compact for the Security and Prosperity of the Asian Continent agree to membership in the Greater Asia Mutual Security and Economic Organization (referred to as GAMSEO for short).

ARTICLE II. To facilitate economic growth and prosperity, signatories agree to relax trade barriers with one another. Free trade is not an absolute necessity, but otherwise, nations in GAMSEO are expected to grant each other Most Favoured Nation status. Cross-border traffic regulation is likewise expected to be relaxed.

ARTICLE III. To keep the continent from falling into chaos, members of GAMSEO agree to enter a binding Non-Agression Pact with one another.

ARTICLE IV. To ensure the strength and stability of GAMSEO, members agree to negotiate as one in any external argument that affects more than one member.

ARTICLE V. To maintain the peace on the continent, members of GAMSEO agree to recognize each others’ respective spheres of influence. Sphere of Influence conflicts between members are to be arbitrated within the group. Sphere of Influence conflicts with outside powers will invoke Article IV.

ARTICLE VI. To ensure the strength and stability of its member countries, GAMSEO members agree to come to one another’s aid in the event of a serious domestic crisis.

ARTICLE VII. To ensure the safety of its members, an attack on one member in GAMSEO can and will be treated as an attack on the organization itself, and thus every member.

ARTICLE VIII. To ensure that GAMSEO can defend itself properly, members agree to coordinate militarily if such need arises.

ARTICLE IX. To ensure the new order is respected, GAMSEO must respond to all threats with all necessary force.

ARTICLE X. Breach of this Compact may lead to suspension or outright ejection from GAMSEO, and in serious cases may be treated as an attack on GAMSEO.

Signatories:
Byzantoman Empire
Republic of Free India
Republic of Hong Kong

Australia would like to join as well.

The Greek Orthodox Empire asks to join the compact.

Greece isn't in Asia...

Our culture is more middle eastern than European. So, in geography Greece may be European, but in culture it is Asian.

Speech by Prime Minister George Chai at the first ever celebrated Unification Day

“Citizens of Beijing, it is my honor and privilege to stand before you today, in this historic capital. For years, it has been the seat of the seat of the Ming and Qin dynasties, and later Republic of China. Now, the Celestial City shall play witness to the rise of a new power; the United Republic of China!

“After over a decade of war and strife, the Chinese people have once again been united under one banner. The Steel and Grain initiative, combined with the Asian-Pacific Free Trade Agreement, has caused a massive economic boom in what was once considered by some a backwards land. New factories are being built all across this land, and I am proud to say that unemployment is the lowest it has been in decades. We now have the capacity to challenge the old economic powers in Europe and America. The old age of feudal lords and poverty is at an end.

“In addition, our military might has grown by leaps and bounds throughout the Great Northern Campaign. Our army is not only the largest, but now, one of the best equipped in the entire world. Great innovations, such as the jet turbine and new advances in rocketry are becoming more and more commonplace in the armed forces. It is because of these great advances that the Free Republic was able to secure such a great victory over the divided warlords.

“Now, as our internal affairs are being secured, we must look outwards, towards the rest of the world. The United Republic has grown to be one of the most dominant powers on the Earth, and as such, must take a greater role in foreign affairs. It is vital to our security that we are not caught unawares as the dynasties of old were when the Western powers came. As I speak to you today, our delegates are signing a treaty in Delhi that will establish a new order in Asia, one that will preserve peace and prosperity to all.

“Thus, we have many reasons to celebrate, after so many tribulations. It was on this very day that the last obstacles to unity were overcome by our valiant soldiers. And it is my great pleasure, therefore, to be here to officiate the first ever Unification Day. Let the festivities, begin!”

The Prime Minister’s speech, as well as the first Unification Day Parade and Festival, was the largest (as well as the first) televised event in China. It is estimate that around 249.6 million citizens watched the celebration on a television set.
