Figure out what Attila is speaking

The girl is singing in Hungarian. Somebody mentioned Chuvash and that would be my guess also.

Quote from the always "reliable" wikipedia;
Chuvash is the most distinctive of the Turkic languages and cannot be understood by speakers of other Turkic tongues. Today, Chuvash is classified, alongside Khazar, Turkic Avar, Bulgar, and, possibly, Hunnic, as a member of the Oghuric branch of the Turkic language family. It is the only language of this family which is not extinct. The conclusion that Chuvash belongs to the Oghuric branch of Turkic arises from the reasoning that the vocabulary shows the language to belong to the r- and l- type which is typical for all languages of this branch. The rest of the Turkic languages (Common Turkic) are of the z- and š- type."[8]

Since the surviving literary records for the non-Chuvash members of Oghuric are scant, the exact position of Chuvash within the Oghuric family cannot be determined.

Formerly, scholars considered Chuvash not properly a Turkic language at all but, rather, a Turkicized Finno-Ugric (Uralic) language.[9]

Had a quick look and there are some Chuvash songs on Youtube; at work so cant listen to them; perhaps you might find a comparisons there?

I dont think these Chuvash songs will help too much. Those videos have women singing not a man screaming.

Some Hungarian person, please come and confirm that its not Hungarian that Attila is speaking.

No he sounds not Germanic:lol:
For some reasons only Austria and Germany have the Germanic style. For me sounds like a similar Hungarian slang but iam not sure.
I think i has heard this language before, but my last visit in east europe was for a lot of years.

I'm hungarian, and Attila's speech is definitely NOT hungarian, I double-checked in case there was a discrepancy in accents.

maybe it's Kalmyk (which is a Mongolic language spoken in part of Russia)

Did someone ask 2K Greg if he knew? I don't know what Attila was saying, but I did like his collection of swords!

Cool, I just wanted a confirmation.

This is how Attila sounds like to me

"Ezu halei Attila! Wo manchei, Arrlebholem! Kak sen ga gai. Avan, ma kabalak na lu kermei kamta.

I really hope that once we know the exact language that Atty is speaking, that someone can translate it

Otherwise, it would be like Hiawatha, Montezuma, Pachacuti, Askia, Darius, Alexander, their dialogues are not fully translated. They'll probably be joined by Pacal and Dido and maybe even Boudica

What do you mean not fully translated?

What do you mean not fully translated?

I mean no one has finished translating all of their lines. The game supposedly gives you translations, but they're not accurate.

We need people who know Mohawk, Quechua, Nahuatl, Akkadian, Aramaic, and Ancient Greek to help us translate.

Boudicca has a shot of being translated. Since she'll be speaking some kind of Gaelic language.

Some of the native leaders could be, but they're uncommon enough that we don't have members here. Attila would likely fall in this category even after. However, they'll likely credit the voice actor and we can possibly figure out the language that way.

Dido depends on whether she's speaking Phoenician or Tunisian Arabic. If it's the latter, we'll probably be able to translate it.

I would imagine Boudica will speak Welsh, as it's the probably the closest language to what she spoke that has lots of speakers. Other, mostly unspoken languages they could choose are probably just as distant so I doubt they've gone out of their way.

To my knowledge the Gaelic languages are far enough from the British celt language(s). At least I only barely hear the similarities between Irish and Welsh.

Yeah, after comparing to known Gothic, it doesn't sound similar. Would like a Hungarian to chime in, though.

No connection to hungarian language
Neither the overall style, nor any of those words similar to anything hungarian
OTOH Chuvash is a valid guess, I also think it's that

It's not a Mongolian language (Mongol, Kalmyk, Buriat etc.). I'm not exactly a professional linguist, but I did spend a year in Mongolia, and have studied related languages. This doesn't sound much like those.

I suspect he's speaking a Turkic language, but I have very little support for that.

Either way, I'm impressed they found a voice-actor that doesn't sound stilted.
