What is generally considered more difficult(or are they about even):

A campaign played on Monarch difficulty with a nation which pocesses the financial trait.
or
A campaign played on Prince difficulty with a nation which does not have the financial trait?

By the way the campaign would be played on a huge, terra map with 18 civilizations. Aggressive AI turn on and the only victory condition will be a score or time victory.

My guess is that they are just about equal in difficulty, but I wanted to see if I could get an experienced opinion before I began. Thanks

Any higher difficulty level always beats the financial trait. Its a good trait but the higher you go the faster AI will research and attack, your extra gold income will only have a marginal impact on the overall diffuculty compared to the increased bonussed for the AI's

Actually, A game on Emperor will be harder as not financial as you start out the game with -1 to your gold when you found your first city.

I think basicly the financial trait means -1difficulty level as you said. It depends on the circumstances which the better is. I would still say that generally +1difficulty is harder, but nevertheless on larger maps and in peaceful games having the financial trait makes the game easier then -1difficulty.

I find playing a Financial leader on Monarch harder than a non-financial on Prince but I only played two Prince games before moving up to Monarch.

I thought that it was Organized that let you run 100% science from the start due to lower Civic costs on Emperor plus. Financial only has an impact based on what tiles you work and even getting additional commerce, you still can't go 100% science if your costs are higher.

Actially finantial trat overrated. It has biggest influence on islands map.
In many cases people simply do not know how to use other trats, many of which more powerfull then finantial if used properly.
