As the old saying goes, "There's a first time for everything." :) We will be having our FIRST chat with Firaxians this Friday at 4 PM EST in our chat room. There isn't really a specific topic for the chat. You can ask Jeff Morris (Civ3 Producer) and other Firaxians questions about the upcoming patch, the expansion pack, or any other things.

You can access the chat room by going to the Java chatroom page here, or you can use an IRC client such as mIRC to connect to the chat server at irc.webmaster.com then join the channel #civfanatics. The bottom of the forum also has a link to the Java chat room.

Again, don't forget to join us this Friday! It'll be a most interesting chat. ;)

No idea Damien, I would try getting support from the person/company that made the program. You can also try using Trillian's built in IRC. www.trillian.cc . Then you will have IRC and all the major IM services (MSN, ICQ, AIM, and Yahoo!).

You coming Mike B.?

Why not suggest some ideas of questions here for obtain the maximum benefit from the friday chat.

some suggestions: - numbers of new non-unique units
- do radars replace modern's fortress?
- do airfields are overthrow by culture?
- some infos about scenarios include in xp
- and so on...

_What will be the limit for customization?
Will it be possible to make civ3-like leader portraits?
Will it be possible to make more than 32 civs?

On what do u base the numbers about corruption, food, etc?(is there a real research?)

Don't think that's necessary... Just ask in the chat... :)

I would like to see Firaxis chat with people like Zouave. He send a lot of email to Firaxis and never received a personnalized answer. It will be a great occasion to get real answer. Hope he wil be there.

I don't know if I can take Zouave being there! :D

Sorry but what do you mean? Pardon me but it a expression that mean: post suggestions or not post suggestions for questions?

It is like the saying "Fire away!!!" meaning, you can suggest all you like. :)

My suggestion to help get the most out of the chat, is for "some of us" to go and read the chat logs and firaxis news items that already have been released in teh past couple of weeks instead of asking the same questions over and over again as if we just got thawed out from the cryo units in the back room.

We already know a fairly large number of things about the XP and the upcoming patch.

We also know that there are some questions that the Firaxis crew will not answer as a matter of how they have planned to use some of these tidbits of information to stimulate marketing excitement.

So for example, Traquenard, you need to read last weeks chatlog before you try and reinvent the wheel (or the proverbial Radar tower) for the umpteenth time.

CyberSex with Firaxis this friday [dance]

and TF is already spreading his lame little script ;):p

Technically that would have to be EDT this time of year, but most of us knew what Tfall meant.

EST was some sort of self awarenes gimic called Earhart Seminar Training ;)

EST = Eastern Standart Time
CET = Central European Time (France, Germany, Italy etc)

The Chat will be 4 pm EST which is 10 pm (or 22:00) in CET.
UK is one hr behind so it's 9 pm (or 21:00) for them.

I ain't 100% sure about Ankara, but it *should* be one hr ahead, so 11 pm (or 23:00) for you :)

Thank you very much for brief explanation. And you are right; Turkey is one hour ahead of CET.
So see you all at 23:00 Turkish local time at #civfanatics. :D
