Firaxis - How many is sufficient???

Sumthinelse: you're probably right as always :( but maybe they could give us a simple formula that takes map size into account, thus making it a little more predictable, and maybe they can tone it down a litte, too.

Agree. The AI trading is a big concern for me, but if I talk about it too much that's getting off the subject.

sumthinelse: it sucks, we both know that, even at 100%....... To my utter surprise, I get 2 for 2 or 1 for 1 tech deals at start on deity, but not on Regent, sometimes even after everyone has researched tow or three techs (and I get them from huts ;))......

back OT: I had another flip, the AI moved it's stack of doom out of a city, utterly useless move, then the town flips to me. Did they know it beforehand? that is, does the AI get hard numbers for the probability of a flip, thus decided that it was too risky?????

OK, now I've really had it , and I want to know:

How many units does it take to keep a city from flipping????

. . .So what is 'sufficient' here??????

A few hours ago I took the Egyptian town of Giza. I had two spearmen, six legionaries, and a catapult, all full strength veterans in it. The very next turn, with no warning, the town flipped back - and I lost every unit; they just magically vanished. Nine units gone. Game over. Good-by.

I don't care where the Egyptian capital was or how many temples he had. This is a load of CRAP, and I have no time to waste on this nonsense.

So the same thing Lt. "Killer" M. posted happened to me.

If I can't mod the game in the Editor to stop this Culture Flipping baloney Firaxis is determined to push at us I am done.

Hey, that's a thought!:D

But, on the other hand, you-know-who would have a new forum for RANTS .....

I'm all for contrary opinions ... but how many rants opposed to culture flipping is enough?

Did you read the entire thread? Did you see the alternative tactics to avoid losing your troops? Why, when facing a flip risk, would you garrison your troops in the city?

You employed bad tactics and paid a price for your error. But by all means blame the game.
