I'm reading here from some people messages that Firaxis is bringing out a patch very soon, some even know half november? I can't find anything about this, so where the hell did you get your info from?
other thing, some state that firaxis knew many problems even before release, maybe for some failures that's true, because indeed they put their support section online with solutions to some bugs very quickly, but, if they really knew all the problems, why would they wait to release a temporarily patch? I think many occurances really surprised them and hit them on their brains like if the USS Nimitz fell down from heaven on their desk. So imho, i think they found maybe 100bugs in all the complaints from people and are desperatly looking for a solution and didnt know about all of this. If this woudl be the case, it would also explain why firaxis didn't took any statement on all the problems and didn't give a release date for a patch, just because it struck them like a thunderbolt! and they just don't know how many time it will consume to fix everything, maybe 1 week, maybe 1 month, maybe even 6months, where of course they will release at least some patch fixing some things, but leaving failures still in the code just because they KNOW things are not right and need to be fixed and it's too much for them to handle.
But let's hope they first focus on the Crashing issue, the performing issue in later games, the Driver problems which some have with their soundcards and videocards...I can live with the smaller bugs like asking the computer to give his complete empire to me to get peace...i mean, im human! i can just play as if this bug wouldnt be there, and a worker working on 1 tile outside of my cultural influence, well i can live with that too, or a barbarian fleeing away over the water, btw, i don't let them get that far
they should just bring out a patch for the 4 above mentioned really annyoing issues, and fix the rest in the time to come, maybe at christmas they can give us a gift by fixing everything and giving us some extra units or buildings to cover up all the problems we as players had to face
