Seriously, I cannot believe that the Mighty and Invincible nation of Sealand is not in Civ5!!!!! I will absolutely refuse to buy Civ5 if Firaxis do not include Sealand.

Sealand national webpage: http://www.sealandgov.org/

Sealand's proud and illustrious history began in 1967 when His Royal Highness Prince Roy Bates defeated the evil British Empire to take control of what is now Sealand. In fear, and in the hopes of avoiding a total invasion by Sealand's mighty navy and army the British High Court ruled that Britain had no jurisdiction over the area claimed by Sealand, nor the Sealand Government. Thus, a new free nation was born out of tyranny and oppression!

In Civ:
Leader: Prince Roy Bates - Aggressive / Charismatic
UU: Dinghy - replaces battleship. Strength: 1, move 1, can transport 1 unit. Cannot bombard.
UB: HavenCo - replaces research lab. +50% beakers, +50% commerce. Randomly closes with no explanation.
Citylist: Fort Roughs, Sunk Head, Tongue Sands, Knock John, Nore, Red Sands, Shivering Sands.

National Holidays:
Sept 2nd 1967: Independence Day

Military Might:
Sealand has a proud and honourable military history. In 1975 the evil Germans and Dutch invaded Sealand whilst HRH Prince Roy was out of the country on Royal Duties. The nation of Sealand was occupied and the Royal Family held hostage. HRH Prince Roy summoned his loyal troops to him and through military genius and the might of the Sealand forces was able to take the country back. The Germans and Dutch were expelled, and the Royal Family secured. A dirty spy was found and he was charged and sentenced with treason. The Germans fearing an all-out invasion sent a diplomatic mission to appease HRH Prince Roy and to plead his forgiveness. HRH Prince Roy is an honourable and merciful man and allowed peace to ensue.

Disaster:
In June 2006 the nation of Sealand was hit by the most horrific of natural disasters! Fire took hold in the nation and the entire nation was burnt to the ground. Thanks in part to help from the neighboring British, there was only one human injury. Since then, Sealand has suffered under hardship. But negotiations to bring commerce back to the nation has flourished, with negotiations with The Pirate Bay who were looking for a new International Headquarters, as well as the announcement of a new modern online casino. The Sealand Film Industry has also started with the announcement of a new production in progress, due for release in 2010. The revitalisation of Sealand is well on target.

International Sports:
Sealand's sports folk uphold a proud history for the nation. Sealanders participate in different sports in Europe and North America, including mini-golf, football (soccer) and fencing. Sealand's first athlete was a marathon runner by the name of Darren Blackburn.

So as you can see, Sealand has all the markings of a tier 1 Civ and thus MUST be included by Firaxis in Civilization V. I implore you Firaxis, listen to your buyers. Not including Sealand would be the biggest mistake in history!

SEALAND FOR CIVILIZATION V!

Firaxis, make it be! I am 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% Sealandish and I can say I am proud of my heritage. They defeated the freaking British Empire for crying out loud! How have they not been in since Civ 1?!

Actually, it'd be kind of awesome if Sealand was included as a city-state that occupies one tile off the coast somewhere.

Seriously, they let in joke civs like China and Songhai, but they don't let in Sealand? Get rid of China because Sealanders have been more important in history than the Chinese have been.

What would their unique unit be? Scuba diver who auto generates sponges? A helicopter with extra range? An accountant unit who ignores the movement cost when crossing rusty landing platform terrain?

UU:Micronation-replaces settler (this is also where they can get a city list from)
UB:Maunsell Fort-dunno yet

I have added the In Civ: section to the OP which outlines leader, UU and UB.

In Civ:
Leader: Prince Roy Bates - Aggressive / Charismatic
UU: Dinghy - replaces battleship. Strength: 1, move 1, can transport 1 unit. Cannot bombard.
UB: HavenCo - replaces research lab. +50% beakers, +50% commerce. Randomly closes with no explanation.

Got any city names?

I've just added a city list (based off the names of the forts in the channel):

Citylist: Fort Roughs, Sunk Head, Tongue Sands, Knock John, Nore, Red Sands, Shivering Sands.

Mine's right. ;)

Some interesting facts...

Land: .004 sq km
Water: 99.996 sq km

Population: 27
...in addition they have no unemployment or a members living below the poverty line. On top of that, not a single case of HIV/AIDS afflicts the proud nation!

Some how this tin can has a GDP of $600,000.

Of course I always cite my sources: http://www.muu.fi/amorph03/downloads/pdfs/principality_of_sealand.pdf

I'd say some nation needs to blow Sealand out of the water, but I don't think the cost of the bomb would be worth it.
