'Fire and Fury' author Michael Wolff: Trump may be having extramarital affair in White House

There are recordings of her laughing at getting him off! Use some critical thinking and go look and listen for yourself.

Moderator Action: You may have missed my warning in #20. Don't do that again.

Every person on this forum is merely human. We're a mix of nice, nasty, honorable, and dishonorable. Not everyone who is an OT regular also plays Civ, or at least they haven't played it recently. My own favorite Civ game is Test of Time.

As for real history... it's full of infidelity, broken marriage vows, and some really nasty stuff that goes along with it. Just look at Henry VIII and his obsession with getting a male heir. It took three wives to do it, and he cheated on the first two.

If this is directed to me (honestly, please use multiquote so we know whose posts you're addressing), Trump's past actions speak for themselves. He cheated on his previous wives, so it's not unreasonable to assume he's cheated on his current wife. He's even made suggestive comments that if Ivanka wasn't his daughter, he'd have an affair with her. That's disgusting.

I don't speak out of "bitterness for losing an election." Read the sidebar under my name and avatar. That's my real location; I've always been honest about that. As a Canadian, I don't vote in American elections, so do not presume to attribute my loathing for Trump on "losing an election."

When I'm bitter about an election loss, it will be about a Canadian election. And no, I'm not bitter about who won here in 2015. I'm bitter about some of what's happened since, but not about which party won.

"Do you even history" means "Do you read history?" (or close to that; I'm not clear on how nouns suddenly got turned into verbs)
You know how I feel about multiquoting as point-by point criticism versus dialogue. 'Not going to happen unless I get angry as that was how it was in the old days.

Memes are ridiculous. What could be worse than writing up some nonsense drivel and repeating it millions of times. No thanks. I make enough grammatical and spelling errors as it is on this tablet as every browser doesn't work well with the civfanatics site. It seems to lock up due to your advertising widget.

And since I have been posting actual history versus conjecture by ideologues (most recently about the Viet Cong) then I find it irritating to be accused of posting provocative nonsense.

You can just call someone stupid to their face, it gets to the point much faster and cuts out all the flak

As a historian, if you aren't dealing in salacious gossip and petty undercutting, you just ain't doing it right.
Your posts are brilliant even approaching an intensity suggesting genius. Yet the idea of studying the gossip of history might be worthwhile (certainly not in the case of Carthage), but to just post innuendo about the President is too lowbrow for me.

Moderator Action: Everyone is welcome not to post in the thread if they wish. I would advise exercising that right if that is how you feel. ~ Arakhor

Okay, then just use the quote feature in single posts. I don't like having to guess if someone's addressing me or not.

And it's not point-by-point criticism the way you mean it if you're using the same post but quoting different people.

It's a courtesy to others to let people know exactly whose posts you're addressing.

If you're having technical difficulties, that's what the Site Feedback forum is for. If you explain the problem there, one of the admins may be able to help you.

As for memes... I'm usually a stickler for correct spelling. When I first joined the Cheezburger site and started making lolcat pics, it was a real effort to force myself to type "teh" rather than "the". It got easier over the years, though.

I should find the link to the LOLTrek episode somebody did and post it in A&E... who could be upset about a Star Trek episode with all the commercials featuring itteh-bitteh-kittehs? :p

If Michael Wolff had any journalistic integrity, he would have written a political expose with the goal f acquiring a Pulitzer prize. But he didn't. Why? Because no editor worth her salt would ever print crazy unsubstantiated innuendo as news articles over a period. To do so would result in libel suits.

Instead, he wrote a book which has very loose libel laws on accuracy due to the sleazy American history of atrocious preposterous unauthorized biographies.

Eh, I prefer Procopius hating on Theodora. That is much more interesting.

On-Topic: Eh, don't really care about what hanky-panky His Trumpiness gets up to. Unless he is using government resources to cover it up or it is being used as blackmail, it is a private issue between him, Melania, and whatever poor girl has to have a human approximation of Jabba the Hutt sweating on top of her.
I mean, we all knew for years he was a creepy sex-pest. Not like another affair would be a shocker.

I originally wanted to quote some of the Phillip IV-Boniface VIII banter, but I couldn't find online sources for any of the particularly juicy stuff, like when Phillip IV put Pope Boniface on trial for sodomy and poisoning wells.

It actually matters a great deal that our President is open to blackmail.

The military wouldn't give someone with his background a clearance for just that reason. That he is actually in charge of the military should be a huge concern.

Sure it doesn't matter really that he cheats on his wife with porn stars for its own sake. It matters because he's opened himself (and therefore the country) to outside manipulation. Then there is of course the problem that because of all these horrid personality flaws, he has made the government unworkable since on a visceral level people in the government cannot get along with him.

It'd actually be much better for everyone if he just came out and admitted to all of his affairs. That would largely neutralize the blackmail problem. Instead he tries to cover everything up and deny it by discrediting the media and the rest of the government which is also something worthy of worry and consideration for its own sake.

That's a long winded way of saying the affairs are not the problem. He is.

This is silly. Okay, Trump might be having an extramartial affair with Pence. Trump might be having an affair with Nanci Pelosi. He might be having an affair with anyone. Or he might not be having an affair with anyone. How absurd.

This innuendo and national seçurity was used in fairly recent American history to exclude people from working for the government and in public office. Now you want a return to that nonsense of having to answer your sexual history to accomplish these things? What? Is this 1985 again?

How would you ever know the truthfulness of doing a sexual history litany? Lie detector tests? How far back? To what degree? Do you expect any reasonable person to subject themselves to that nonsense? Would that mean outing your sexual partners without their permission?

Actually I don't think it matter if he has affairs in terms of blackmail.
Whatever he's accused of he will just deny and his supporters would believe him even if there is video.
So blackmail wouldn't really be effective. Does anyone really believe that his wife isn't aware of his sleaziness. (except for those previously mentioned) So what leverage is there at this point?

His actions thus far prove that he is vulnerable to being be manipulated by blackmail. What else do you call it when each allegation provokes an immediate false denail that is usually followsed by an assualt on the media and state institutions? If actors have proof beyond just allegations they would then have even more leverage over him.

Sure, money isn't changing hands in exchange for silence but his behavior is clearly being effected by these allegations.

This kind of nonsense kept homosexuals from serving in government for decades. To hear it from the left is shocking.

Agreed. The avenue to blackmail him is definitely limited to his outright crimes, like money laundering and fraud. Matters of character won't work, because he has none and never has, and everyone knows that already.

If it truly didn't matter to him then why does he mount such slanderous responses? Clearly it matters to him. Sure he's morally bankrupt. But he is still vulnerable to manipulation and that's all that really counts with blackmail.

I love it the left show they can be just as puritanical and come up with silly ideas as the next person.

The suggestions up above harmed countless lives including within the military.

You got to ask yourself why anyone would desire to return to such a repressed notion of reporting their sexual history. This is a guaranteed way to eliminate most people from considering serving in any capacity in government.

Care to specify who you are referring to as "the left?"
