"Fire and Roses" covers the developements in south-central Asia during the early
middle ages (ca. 900-1100 AD). You will get the chance to struggle for the
territories nowadays known as Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Uzbekistan and
northern India as the Abbasids, legatees to the prophet Muhammad, the Samanids,
upkeepers of the Persian civilization, the Bujids, a new and dominating power in
Persia, the Ghaznavids, and/or the first of the islamic Turks, or the Ghurids, a
new power just emerging from the afghani mountains and unaware of the teachings
of the Koran.
The scenario will be finished at about end of January I suppose.

Here are a couple of screenshots

[Q]Your city gfx are getting better and better, Stefan :goodjob:[/Q]

I think these are my most realistic ones to date... I tried to give them more life by adding some plants growing up the walls...

I personalized my turk townships and settlement by adding some scanned-and-resized "tereks" ( the iranian ... come si dice platano  ... oh yeah plane tree :D ). Still have some micro-pics on the other PC...;) :egypt:

Prometeus

En ingles, "platano" es "banana."

simpelemente para tu informacion.

Platano was intended in italian, and it means plane tree. It's a tragedy with tree names... almost all of the italian names are different from other languages...

Terek, or iranian plane tree, is a common typo on Central Asian plains. Haven't you noticed it yet on Afghani war reports?

Oops, sorry!

*is stupid*

Still can't tell the difference between Spanish and Italian.

Don't watch too many Afghan war reports. I'm not a big fan of the whole "war" thing. (In Civ 3 it's fine - Real People aren't dying.)

BTW, is the magic carpet just a joke, done for this preview, or is it really in the game?

*wonders if Stefan has changed to the fantasy genre* ;)

You will see :groucho: :groucho:

Stefan, I'll email you my comments later today

News Update: The scenario will be released on Wednesday, unless there are any very urgent comments just before that (regarding the recent results of playtesting, however, there shouldn't be any).

A note: The magic carpet is delayed ;).
