I think it was implied in the last dev's stream, but now it is confirmed: Kongo LUA has been buffed, and now you get ALL beliefs of any religion that is in majority of your cities. So not only Founder's beliefs. Sounds pretty sick.

Is it that really a boost tho, Technically every city gets all the follower beliefs + worship belief of the majority religion in a city. Kongo receiving this as well is just par for the course. Getting the Founders belief is the effect.

Wasn't Kongo the most requested African civ by players?

Yeah, I think it was. I like that they included it and their design is mostly pretty awesome. I was just agreeing that they should have picked another leader. It didn't have to be the non-Kongolese Queen Nzinga. They could have picked a pre-Christian king. That said, the civ's design is still really interesting.

That's great! I still think they should be able to found a religion, just not build holy sites.

This. That's how I always understood it.
For India and the follower belief it is different, since they get to bonus for all religions present, not only the dominating religion.

Why did no YouTuber play with Kongo? I would have watched that first...

There are the enhancer beliefs...of which Defender of the Faith+Crusade only apply to the founder normally.


Hopefully Kongo gets the Full founder Belief though

ie 10 American Catholic (Church Property +2 gold/ city founder Belief) cities
5 Spanish Catholic cities (founder)
6 Kongo Catholic cities (out of 8)

Spain gets 42=(10+5+6)*2 gold
Kongo should get the same amount of gold as Spain does

There is some problems with Kongo and benefits from religion because for buying unique religious building you need temple -> you need Holy district, oops.

Also FilthyRobot gameplay showed weakness of writers, artists, musicians - if you haven't free slots those great people do nothing at all. IMO, there should be also some other action/benefit - eureka(s) for civic, culture, faith, something like that.

He had something like 4-5 cities then he could have +10, culture victory is not a smal civ victory actually no victory favor smal civs.

Does anyone know if Kongo's double great person point bonus stacks with the Pantheon Divine Inspiration, and the Oracle?

Also, After playing a bunch of opening games with a bunch of different civs to get a feel for them, I think I may have unexpectedly fallen in love with Kongo. Not having to care about religion and having fewer districts to build is great. And these relics are crazy powerful, especially if you find one in a hut early in the game, your capitol just runs away with it. I just got a standard turn 10 pantheon with them.
