This game is known as civilization not some mystilization...this sort of rubbish shouldn't be in the vanilla version. They could put it in their DLC scenarios for all I care.
Heh.
I dare you to come back to this thread later and tell us that they stayed friendly with you in the long term and did not decide to betray you out of the blue suddenly for whatever reason.
500 gold for first to find el dorado? Feels very overpowered and annoying due to it's total randomness.
After one game with the latest patch it looks like the AI is even more dead.
All 3 opponents each only managed to get 7 policies unlocked at a standard map at epic speed. (more than 600 turns.)
All AIs were more powerful, but still didn't do anything to stop the human player from winning.
Instead of creating more balance the patch introduced the opposite.
"Turn 4 : You have founded El Dorado. Here's 500 gold."
Happiness doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. Theatres and stadiums give more happiness and cost less in upkeep.
Angkor Wat finally works as intended, but is now overpowered.
Conclusion : the game is still utterly boring and a waste of time.
Your name suits you.

Yes you are correct. The AI seems really poor at expanding still. The rate of colonization (if any) seems a LOT lower. I have seen civs in 1500 AD with 3 cities post patch and plenty of land around them.
Rat
AI settlement is far more 'play to win'.
AI use of City States is really a game-changer in this patch.
Defensive tactics are very good. They're using mobile horse units well.
Gold and Science seem heavily boosted.
Offensive AI still leaves much to be desired
(Observations from standard emperor fractal)
Look at the natural wonders this way: it's not the existence of said thing, but the rumored existence that is attracting people, making them happy, etc.
Can somebody please clarify - I thought I read in the patch notes somewhere that cities healed 2 health per turn. Last night I got all the way into the modern era and one of my city state allies had a city with 50 defense. I noticed that his city was healing 4 health every turn while it was under attack. Do cities heal more as their defense gets higher?
Cities are harder to take now and that is a great thing!
The Good:
Horsemen more balanced
Wonders have more perks if worked and in border (i.e. Karkatoa is +5 science)
Cultural expansion is much faster
AI defensive use is improved
Tooltip tell you what the AI body language is supposed to be
The not so Good:
National College is early and overpowered
The AI are still fairly irrational (Ramesses is afraid because I have two warriors and a horseman and I'm on the other side of the continent ????)
The ugly:
Tech advance is even faster now. I suspect some old hands can do a spaceship victory by 150 turns... (luckily that is a simple mod)
Also, is unit maintenance increased?
And did anybody else have steam reset their settings for keeping up to date? I had intentionally set mine to do not, only to find it reset to keep up to date and the patch loaded...
Yes. The patch notes refer to this. I think it has to do with tech.
