i'm back! i thought i was feeling lousy. then i found out what lousy really is ... i reacted badly to one of the medicines and ended up in the hospital, it was not fun. i am back home now

I will finish the game sunday (afternoon, before 16.00h I guess) Dutch time (= French time). But you really don't have to wait for me. I just want to see how I do compared to your saves and how the different approaches work out. So you can move on and keep the schedule. I don't want to be responsible for messing things up.

If you also still want to see my attempt, then I can post it here. Sorry that I couldn't keep up with the schedule. Real life huh...

I hope one of the saves is a good one. I think that Cabert is right that a good war effort is important now.

KMad, don't give up SGs, especially this one.They are the best fun to be had in this game IMO.

I'll make a genuine attempt to play the next round so you'll get a really "good" trash game to vote for. I'm sure you're all happy to hear that.

It's still a matter of 8 hours.
We're past due time for 8 other hours now.
I suggest going for the vote without waiting.
If Roland's game is obviously a lot better, we'll consider taking it into account when/if he posts it.

I have sent my votes to Mice - I'd be quite prepared to withdraw them if the rest of the roster opts for a game posted by KMadCandy, Öjevind Lång, or Roland Johansen. I am not able to look at any submissions from now due to work commitments.

Personally I think that it's important to stick to the schedule - some of the rounds of P666-04 illustrated what can happen if the schedule is disregarded too frequently.

I am still mindful of Roland's earlier suggestion that we go for two 'back-to-back' 'most successful' rounds - certainly Cyrus is looking like quite a problem at this stage. I think all of the submissions to the 1000AD round are still quite 'winnable', but Roland's suggestion is an option I think we should 'keep in reserve'.

If Cyrus gets out of control we will have to use all the sneaky tricks to slow down a space build. That would be educational.

You can surely move on. You don't have to wait for me. Allthough the thought was nice. Thanks. But I still have quite some turns to play and I don't know if my game will be that great. Lost quite some units in the war. A bit unlucky.

I don't know what to say.

Except that the last two sets ('worst' and 'best') were two phases of the same overall strategy.

That's what makes games difficult to judge.

Edit: This also gives me double immunity .

I'm also cross with myself for missing out on cabert's prophet-lightbulb-theology-for -tech-trading trick. With a spot of luck we could have got compass and MC. (If we'd picked up MC then maybe could have traded philosophy for feudalism and machinery which would have put us in a much stronger position)
